New to this site and joined because I guess like many others I have been fortunate to meet and spend time with a wonderful Filipina lady. We have been in a long distance relationship and spent some happy times together in a few diverse cities. Unfortunately as she is separated and we can't yet marry, our combined governments conspire to keep us apart...a problem that is certainly not unique to us. So here's hoping the Senate will get their act together on HB7303 or at least the other which facilitates annulment. Or Theresa May allows visas for consenting adults to live together without a wedding...it is the modern world after all.
It's nice to have a wider group of people who face similar issues and compare stories.
Hoping to get back to Manila for my 2nd trip to the beautiful islands many of you call home. Maybe to the unspoilt happy isle of Catanduanes. So many beautiful places to see and a wonderful person to share the experience with.

Completely going off reservation here but would it be possible for Man A to get seperated woman B pregnant, bring child C into the UK and then mother B then joins as parent?

    Hi.
Many of us on this forum have been through the process you are embarking upon. It is not easy but follow the procedure to the letter and you will achieve your goal. Unfortunately the hoops people have to jump through are there to limit the possibility of people entering the UK illegally then leaving their "partner".

I have read some of the visa guidance and I think that is certainly a possibility. The child would qualify for UK passport by virtue of the father and the mother could come as a dependant.

    Thanks for the encouragement.
How did you get through it ? Did you go down the annulment route ?
It can be quite expensive and not a guarantee of success no matter how good the case seems in principle

    Hi again Philljo,
I met my wife whilst on a scuba holiday in a province of Cebu.
She was working as a waitress in a small restaurant and I quickly fell for her.
She was unmarried and without ties so we didn't have annulment to consider.
I went back as soon as possible to see her again to get married then again to accompany her taking the paperwork for her spousal visa application in Manila.
The next time I visited her was to bring my wife back to the UK (via Thailand) to start our lives together.
Now she is a British citizen and we have two adorable children. We wanted children quickly and were lucky that this happened.

We never forget how difficult the period of time was when we were apart in a LDR (Long Distance Relationship).
The whole process was expensive and difficult, as it is for all couples, but life moves on and the difficulties recede into distant memory.

I would do exactly the same thing again and I love her and our kids dearly.

A Filipina is the most loyal wonderful wife and, to use the title of a good movie, "What Dreams Become".

    Thank you for your reply.
I hope one day my circumstances lead to such a positive conclusion.
I totally agree with what you say concerning Filipina women. I have NEVER met anyone quite like my fiancee but I know there's a difficult road ahead.
Hoping to look back one day with same attitude as you.
    Regards to your family

    Thanks Philljo,
You will get there if you both persevere in your goal and get through the inevitable bumps in the road on the journey.
BTW, I made a slight mistake in the movie title. It should have been "What Dreams May Come".
    Brgds.
