Thanks Aposhark and Yuna. Do you happen to know Filipino organisation/community in London?
Hopefully, i will be in London by 2nd quarter next year and just trying to figure it out how to cope up with the life in UK.

I live here in the UAE for the past 12 years and i find it easy to adapt the life style and culture with the support system from my friends and relatives.

    Regards,
    Mszaina

I think 33 degrees is really warm in UK. For us here we are use to above 35 degrees and 48 degrees during summer. ;)

In the middle east where you are currently located that makes sense, that would not normally be true in the Philippines.

    Welcome Ms Zaina

I was in Dubai for 36 years before retiring here in the Philippines. Yes of course the temperatures in UAE and the whole Gulf region are unimaginable for anybody not having lived there. I have a couple of pics that I took, showing daytime temp of 52C and nighttime temp of 42C.
I'm sure you appreciate how difficult it can be be to arrange for a spouse visa to UK, so my only advice on that front is to be patient.

best way to meet pinoys in London is to go to Earl's court.. look for the Pinoy restos there, and Jollibee of course..

Being British I'd love see more Filipino communities ...my fiance will be here with me soon I hope and I just miss the Filipino community and people when I was with her in Philippines...there's summat about Philippines what I find so special...mainly just the togetherness and the kindness of them ...it's not like here...far from it intact ..

You can search the Phil embassy website for Filipino groups in your area. I deliberately didn't join any associations as it is rife with chismis..lol.. I do go to.the barrio.fiestas and keep a small group of pinay friends

Massive amount of pinays round here, there's the European HQ of a Filipino church a very short distance away, not unusual to see over a hundred coming out, birds of a feather, but as florge rightly noted the gossip and back biting that goes with such a group is rife :D

    Thanks David

It's tough to be in LDR. As much as possible, we tried to see each other every six months. Either i go to London for few weeks visit or he comes down here in Abu Dhabi.
Well, this is what we got and just hoping to complete our docs for spouse visa.

Thanks for the advise. I will check those places when i visit on December. Im just trying to figure out how to settle and adjust the culture. Unlike if i move to US, Canada or Australia where i have relatives and friends to help me. Surely my husband will be there for me. I did'nt expect to marry a Filipino British :). I thought i will stay single, work, sleep, eat and travel hehehe. Destiny brought us together so here i am in the group trying to learn and understand British Filipino way of life.

Thanks for the heads-up. In that case, i would rather do something productive. I don't mind if i only have 2 pinay friends in UK then. :)
