    Hi there and welcome,

    https://www.gov.uk/standard-visitor-visa/apply
Please see attached link on visit visas, not the easiest thing to get you will need to show compelling reasons that after your visit you will return home.

    Good Luck

Welcome young lady, no need for any x-rays for a short visit to the UK, its for settlement visas only.

Read carefully through the visa link
You need to demonstrate that you have sufficient funds to pay for your trip and to support yourself while in the UK.
You will need to advise where you are staying
You need to show compelling reasons that you will return home (ie job to go back to, dependant relatives, property)
    You need a UK sponsor

Is it your intention to surprise your loved one and turn up in the UK unannounced?

Compared with us lucky Brits, Filipinos are prisoners in their own country.

Stable job in ph is a good reason. So make sure you can provide a letter from your employer stating your position, how long you have been employed by them, your salary, and dates approved for leave/holiday.

Then attach 6 months bank statment. A detailed itenirary of travels (i added my budget on it), plus hotel booking (used booking.com/agoda.com that has 24 hr free cancellation).

If you have a good travel history, there are higher chances of being approved (i wouldnt advise UK as first overseas travel). In the eyes of ukvi, why fly for more than 14 hr when you (or both if you) can fly 1.5 hrs without any visa?

If you have an address, it should be good. Uber works really well, but edinburgh has many small town sorrounding it (very much saying you live in manila which could be makati, mandaluyong etc). Why dont you surprise him by telling him to pick you up at the airport?

    Goodluck

'Surprising' somebody from the other side of the world could also have 'surprising' consequences.

Need to be 110% confident in your relationship before committing time and funds. ;)

Another good point, I remember working overseas with a chap and he decided to surprise his wife and went home a week earlier than scheduled without telling his wife, I will leave it to your imagination what he found when he got home, I cant remember if it was the milkman or the window cleaner he bumped into at home :)

So yes, confidence is required :)

    "You need a UK sponsor"

oh ? why should anyone need a sponsor for a visit visa if they have sufficient funds for travel, accommodation and self sufficiency ?

You don't need a sponsor, many Filipinos travel to the UK independently, for example my mother in law and two sisters, just applied and got the visa.
