I you find another job you should be fine. You must however have salary that meets the minimum requirement ( if your wife is not working). Depending at what type of employment you find you will need 6 or 12 months payslips when you renew your spouse visa after 2.5 years.

you have 18 months to sort this out., no worries! Did you lose the job through covid related issues for the firm you worked for? If you find a job straight awaay and at time of visa renewal you have worked there over 12 months you need 6 months payslips.
If you are struggling at the time of renewal to meet the requirements then you can apply to go down the 10 year visa route based on (financial figures) better this route than no route.

Im sorry to see you have lost your job, as others have said you have time on your side, In these times of uncertainty its not easy finding a new job especially in certain sectors unless you have good qualifications, as for your wife unless she has qualifications its even harder, may i suggest that she takes a look at these companies https://www.voyagecare.com/ and https://dimensions-uk.org/ they usually have vacancies also take a look at local residential homes where carers are always needed, beggars cant be choosers in this day and age and whilst the caring sector isnt for everyone sometimes its needs must, good luck.

nothing at all wrong with being a care worker; my wife started as a junior carer ( nothing to do with age--just experience ) 4 years ago, then moved to a different care home. she studied and gained nvq3--and got promoted to senior. further study gained her level 5--and promoted to deputy manager. now she is the registered manager of the home. her current salary would easily meet the financial requirement.

we live on the isle of wight--her job is within easy walking distance, but her salary isnt up to the level typically paid nationally--thats the trade off for living here. if we did decide to move over to the mainland--south coast--she would be applying for reg managers jobs paying 45-60 k a year..and there is a big demand in that sector.

on the other hand a junior carer would be paid the minimum rate--but that is over 8 pounds an hour i think. so--40 hours a week hits 16k a year +

    or--12 hour night shifts--100 pounds a crack.

i think if she starts a job her employer will be issued with an NI number for her. the employer needs to see her BRP and its ref number.

Potential employers should use this site to check your wife's right to work while waiting for a NI number.
    It isn't hard!

It is when applying online and they ask for ni number or the fact we are trying get an house in joint name and again they ask for ni. Number.. Thats my point so her only route basically is warehouse work on agency? So she can get an ni number?
