Hello again! I am currently on my first FLR-M which will expires on Sept 2020. This time, we are preparing for my 11 year old son to be sponsor to join us here in UK. My son has " unknown" father in his birth certificate ( no acknowledgement signature ) and no middle name. He visited UK last year as a tourist for 6 months. Kindly advise on what requirements I should start of and fees to pay. Any response ot similar experience will be highly appreciated. thank you very much.

That’s true of a number of those posting in that thread. No doubt @bigmac will get with you tomorrow on that form of entry requirement. Maybe @Chicfire too..

Thank you very much. I have never been married nor live in with his biological father, nor any communication at all since my child was born 11 years ago. Since I left Philippines last Sept 2017 to join my husband in the UK, My sister is acting official guardian to my son in Philippines. I have seen list of requirements that the guardian can provide such as letter from school, dentist, church and community center ( barangay ). Moneygram was named under mine direct to the guardian as proof of my support. Anything else you can add more please?

its the standard vaf4 application form--online. standard settlement fees apply.

you have to prove you have sole responsibility for your son...which should be easier as there is no remaining parent in his life. who looks after him ?

how did you go about schooling him when he was in the UK for 6 months.? ( we are considering applying for a visit visa for my wifes son --hes 12)

did he fly over on his own ?

    I
In regards of my son's visit last January to June 2017, i flown with him. we able to send him to public Catholic primary school in 5th grade here in Wales. He was provided free transportation too by the school. He went back to Philippines after the visit and continue his schooling in Phils.

In regards of your enquiry who looks after my son in Phils- my sister is his official guardian.

We were not be able to apply settlement the same time with me because of the financial requirement. Husband earns £21,500 per annum last year. So to avoid any delays, I have to go first.

thats very interesting--about the school situation. can i ask if you had to pay any fees ?

hmmm--i'm not sure if your sister being his official guardian helps you--does that mean she has full--or joint--responsibility ?

We did not pay any fees in the school here apart from miscellaneous such as uniform and extra curricular activities. We,were interviewed, filled up paperwork then the Headmaster sent us official letter.

My son lives in with my sister ( my sister has her own family too with 1 daughter ). I have full responsibility in terms of decision and budget.

Thats correct. It is £22,400 for one dependent. Husband had uplift salary this tax year so now financial requirement is sorted.

Though i may add that I am working full time now. But i have read that it is only husband ( sponsor- british citizen ) financial required to reached £22,400, not mine. Hmm, can i add my earning income too as an additional support in our application?

that--i just dont know. but--for what its worth, on my wifes sons refusal letter--it referred to his mother as his sponsor--but--in fact--i am the sponsor. the same thing happened with @a8amg

So better not to declared my earnings? I am earning £18,600 per annum, doesnt meet financial requirement to sponsor. Let husband solely declared the sponsorship?

yes--the sponsor has to be a settled person ( or UK citizen by birth )

so--how come UKVI refer to my wife--as her sons sponsor --? just typical of the confusion caused by the whole process.

this was why my--then ---fiancee didnt apply for her son at the same time--? how could i be his sponsor back then--i wasnt related to him--theres no such thing as a step father in waiting...and i hadnt even met him.
