if you send your wife any financial support--say this in the application--and show it if its on your bank statements.

    Interesting
weve used skype logs also on leaving philippines to hong kong, for relationship proof
i believe for certain visas theres a need to prove continuing/regular contact
also be wary many documents may not be returned, was case in visit visa,so notarise copies of documentsyou need back, vfs for some visas will xerox and then accept the copies i think, need to be there early then and separate those crucial documents
for support i use moneygram they have a nice summary you can print

mostly its the fiancee visa ( settlement:marriage ) that you need to show proof of genuine relationship---but you only have to have met once ! and proof of "ongoing devotion " in our case--we were apart for nearly 2 years before she applied for fiancee visa. we showed facebook chat history--about a page per month--plus proof i was ££ supporting her.

but before that--we had lived together for about a year on 2 separate visas--and got engaged.

I'd have to censor a lot before submitting FB chats

Is evidence of financial support sent to your fiancée or partner/future spouse a positive or negative piece of evidence to support the fiancée visa application? It would seem to contradict the requirement for the applicant to be financially 'secure'...!

Not sure where you read the statement that says the applicant has to be financially secure coz only the sponsor's financial capability is taken into account when applying for a settlement visa. I know a lot of people submitted money remittances as part of evidence and they all got the visa no problem.

    Ah OK.
That's the major difference between a Tourist/Visitor Visa - where, despite a sponsor (Me!) proving that I am financially able and prepared to support my gf throughout her stay in the UK, the Visa was refused because she was not considered 'financially stable' - and a Fiancée/Spouse/Settlement Visa!

I included evidence .. highlights in my bank statements..showing I was supporting my fiancee each month. It's not essential..but I thought it demonstrates proof of a serious relationship.

Yes I was also refused visit visa last year because they said I am not financially stable even though they believe that my sponsor can support me. Silly but anyway I’ve moved on from that.

When you say "... I’ve moved on from that." - what was your next step? Just curious!
