Yeah I visited both times in January and February, the climate was perfect not too hot and no mosquitoes really.
The first visit was to Tagaytay and was amazing, the second trip planned for Tagaytay had to be changed at short notice because of the volcano eruption so we headed north to Baguio.

My other half loves the scenery especially the wild flowers, the variety of food, the wildlife and the places we can go to and the things we can do.
Be prepared not everyone may accept your wife and it has been difficult to integrate with the Filipino community as it seems they are wary of me.
Book flights well in advance and keep an eye out for offers....in my case, budget economy instead of standard economy.
One thing that caught me out was having to buy a whole new wardrobe full of clothes, shoes and boots etc.
I also send a little financial support to her family as they used to rely on her pay, my contribution was not expected or mentioned it the slightest but I feel it's fair.

I hadn't thought of that but now you say it, yes a change of wardrobe would be required upon coming to the UK .
I think living in Cornwall will definitely be limiting with regard to a Filipino community but on the plus side we have the beautiful scenery and easy way of life I guess.
I think sending money home to mom or daughters is something I should expect and and seems to be the Filipino way.
My partner would definitely want to work here so I don't see a problem with it either.

I understand the potential issues that I have seen in some of the threads.

I see my girlfriend want to look after her own family and has sacrificed most of her life away from home to provide for them, being away from them on one occasion for four years and watching them grow up in photographs just so that they would go through university and not have the life she did... I have seen the tears of that sacrifice.
I also understand that some want to lay out the possible financial issues so that we have the full picture of what may lay ahead .... forewarned is forearmed right !.

My experience, as I have heard many of you say, is that I have met someone who is kind, caring, attentive and in many ways different to anyone I have ever met here in the UK.

I wasn't looking for any particular "type" just the right person with a love for the simple things in life, it just happened that it turns out she was from the Philippines.

Just out of pure interest and maybe this is for a different thread, has anyone kept a record on how many successful British / Filipino relationships are members here against how many bad ?.

Maybe this is impossible I guess since the bad ones just disappear.

Beautiful words woody, you are 110% right that a Filipina can be very different to anyone from here.
As for successful/bad relationships - if you get a good one it will be very very good, if you get a bad one it can be very very bad....
