I am convinced that the boys and girls that process our visa applications are not necessarily super diligent. Some maybe and some maybe not. Show me an office environment where that is not the case? I bet they get bored shootless wading through our applications. I think we all would if we had processed more than just one or two.

Mistakes are bound to be made through neglect, by accident or by corner cutting for lunchtime, going home time etc etc.

As for the FCO, he is probably too busy eyeing up the office talent most of the time, to give a damn.

Ask your imaginary friend. The rest of us will assume he means an immigration liason officer working for the foreign and commonwealth office, FCO for short.

I earn less than that (pensioner) and manage to go to the Phils 3 or 4 times each year, to see my asawa and our baby son. Hmm.

why cant your husband fly over to you for his holidays? some really cheap flights from the UK--such as air china. we have other members on here in the same position. such as @graham59 --he flies over several times a year.

another thought---can your hubby get some money from parents / family ? to top up the savings. with an income of £16000 he would need £22,500 in a bank a/c for 6 months--and proof of where the money came from. cash gifts are permitted..but not loans.
