NHS Improvement has been advised not to publish data on the scale of hospital deficits. This advice came from a Government seeking re-election.

I suspect it's not going to be good news. We will find out after Theresa Mayhem has won her blank cheque.

I think we could start another forum regarding the NHS, the NHS operation is huge and will always have some kind of issues associated with it.

As I have stated before, the problems with the service run deep and probably cannot be fixed by an influx of money alone. The main thing that concerns me is the long term future of the NHS as life expectancy keeps on rising and medical breakthroughs continue to keep us alive for longer. It is very difficult for anyone to foresee the requirements of the service in lets say 50 years time. I wish all the political party's would come together on the NHS and fix the immediate problems and plan a financial structure for the future.

If hospitals were run like business - and no I am not advocating privatisation - they'd be a lot more efficient, fewer expensive pen-pushers would be employed, the revolving door for failed managers would be firmly shut and patient outcomes improve. And it would cost us less.

The BMA - and not the government - looks like approving privatisation: GPs want to charge (NHS) patients for appointments.

Its ironic that NHS England is failing under the Tories, but here in Wales, the NHS is failing under Labour ; doesn't that tell you something?

Free prescriptions in Wales isn't there? Mind you, the NHS started in the Welsh Valleys by one of the greatest politicians of the 20th Century.

There are a lot of inefficiencies in the NHS. I often wonder if this is by accident or design. Social care is now being charged against the estate of the person who needs it. I am hoping I am wrong when I say that the genie is out of the bottle.

    You may be referring to:-

The key thing here is that they want to charge for "some" services. However, once people get used to paying to see, for example, a speech therapist or a nutritionist, it could mean that complete charges are not too far away. The BMA usually get my sympathy but, if that report is correct, then I hope the Government perform their duty and reject it outright. The chances are this is a tactic to get more funding and this is something that may be necessary. We'll know more when the financial performance figures are released to Jeremy Corbyn and his Chancellor (joke!).

I have an in growing toe nail. And have had some problems with a foot injury. And my GP (lovely woman btw) keeps suggesting I visit the local foot clinic which costs an absolute fortune.

Suggest you examine the numbers of additional non-clinical - staff brought into the NHS to administer the various crazy reorganisations brought in under the Tories.

The same happened when the railway was privatised - all those TOCs / FOCs having to contract with the then Railtrack. Bonanza for lawyers and accountants / crippling fare increases for the travelling public - and of course shareholder dividends for the Conservative's pals.

    Shameful.
