English test result should be available after a week or 8 days. TB test normally the same day as long as there is no active TB on the result. TB test can only be done in Manila. English test can be done in Cebu and Manila.

I am doing exactly the same. I’m heading back to the Phil next month to apply for spouse visa. I am married to a British citizen and we have two young British citizen kids. Insane that I still have to go back home after travelling back and forth here in the Uk since 2013. I am on a 5 year family visit visa valid until 2019. We decided to come back here August and we did not know I can’t switch to spouse visa within the country. I did my English test in Glasgow a month ago. She can take her English test here through trinity college or other places UKVI approved.

Sorry just looked it up and there are plenty of test centres but you require your selt number we wont have this as we have not applied yet how do you get over that?

I did not need selt number to take the exam. I just booked a week ahead, and luckily there was a schedule for the specific test needed for UKVI English test requirement. I haven’t applied too. I used trinity college, sorry I have no other info regarding to this as all I have done so far was the English test and just about to make an application for my visa in january.

Good evening all. New to the forum but amazed by all the helpful information! Thanks. My situation is a little complicated and I have tried to outline as best as i can below.

I am a 33Years old and British citizen and I have been living in South East for 9 years now (6 years in Thailand and 3 years Manila). My fiance (we will be married in January) have been together for 5 years now and have a 3 year old daughter (Uk passport holder). My fiance also has a 10 year old daughter from a previous marriage (already annulled) who lives with us. Her father is an American citizen and we hope to acquire a USA passport for her. I work in an International School in Manila (earning above the threshold required) and both girls attend said school.

Our plan is to move to the UK as soon as possible (August 2018) and for us both to find work. I am teacher and will easily find work but intend living with my parents until I find something stable. As a teacher, finding full time work will take some time. My wife has a verbal offer of work in the makeup industry in the uk. Obviously we would like both girls to attend school in UK.

Anyone been in an similar situation? How long would the process take? Any advice would be much appreciated

Just add to above. I'm happy to go down any route to make things easier and cheaper! I will find part time work very quickly through supply teaching, tutoring and working in the family bed and breakfast so therefore I don't need my wife to work straight away but for her benefit would like her to be able to work legally within 6 months. The big issue will be making sure both girls can go to school as soon as possible.

    Thanks

Take note of the most recent bank statement that shouldn’t be older than 28 days.

You'll find work back here easily mate. Teachers are so in-demand, schools and recruiters will be fighting for you instead.

The only question is if you'll land in a good school or not.

    Hi micawber,

I am planning to get married on the august of 2018 with my british fiance, and is planning to a get fiance or ( family visa as a fiance) . In my understanding i do not need to reapply for a spouse visa (family visa as a spouse or partner) After i get married. Is that right?

Iam planning to apply here in the uk for a fiance in march i am in the different category of visa. My visa is going to expire on the first week of april.

    Kind regards,
    Venessa

You can’t apply for fiancé visa in the UK. You need to apply from the Philippines. After you get married within 6 months you need to apply for FLR(M) (basically spouse visa as others like to say it) from within the UK.

I am now living in the Uk, with a different category visa. As far as i know at home office website it states i can extend my visa as long as its in a different category. But you might be right?

We are much concern with the amount of money we have to spend. And our wedding day is on the last week of august

My current uk visa is going to expire on the first week of april

And we are stil confused whats the best option to go for...

What is you current visa type? We have had a discussion before about people getting married on "other" visas and it possibly causing issue, but I have heard it is ok to do.
