I need help!! I am a UK citizen and my fiance is a teacher living and working in Philippines. Our first application for a Fiance Visa was refused, and one of the reasons stated was 'limited evidence of serious intent to marry'. How do we meet the requirements to pass this objection? My local Registry Office is insistent that I cannot make a provisional booking for our wedding, so how can we include any acceptable evidence in his application documents?

hello i couldn't find the option to get the priority service on the application. Do you know how i go about buying as i need the faster process time.
I phones a "help line" and they said you just bring the money with you to the appointment, is that true??

i had no difficulty making a provisional booking for our wedding--£40fee and one alteration of date allowed. in fact--the registrar suggested it ! i think you werent talking to the right person.

i got a printed confirmation and receipt. this was the only evidence i submitted.

no point--the priority system has collapsed. some members here have paid the £500 and are still waiting--8 weels later.

Jesus really, this is gonna ruin my plans completely! Our interview is the July 7th. We put August the 1st the date she wants to come to UK.
If it does take as long as that what happens?

Do you think the problem will be solved?

Yes you can pay by cash when you attend your appointment.

I think the process has changed now, VFS doesn't accept cash payments anymore, you need to pay online for priority, courier, vip etc. Go to the VFS website's user pay services, try this link https://www.vfsglobal.co.uk/philippines/user_pay_services.html
I haven't booked mine yet, still mulling over. Bigmac is right but like you I also need a faster process time. Hope they catch up on processing the applications soon.

You can still pay by cash if you want to avail priority service.

Payment can be made online or by cash when you attend your appointment at the visa application centre.

Have yoy spoken to your registrar in detail? Sometimes, the person sitting on the desk doesnt know this. My now husband has explained our situation to her supervisor since the initial reply they said was that both should be present for the interview. Of course its just a cycle, if we cant get the 'provisional booking' i cant get the fiance so i cant get to the UK. My husband requested to speak to the supervisor and it solved the problem.

If that is not possible, can you not send an email asking for requirements etc? Some members provided that communication as part of intent to marry.

If both are not possible, change the registrar. Some registrar are very lenient and would even allow a friend or a family member to book it for you.

Yes you can, you're right. just read in full now :) Think thats the visa fee that has to be paid online in visa4uk instead of paying in the vfs office.

ok thanks for clarifying that! it say we require her cenomar to be eligible for the priority service. I believe the thai government kept that. Would our marriage certificates be suffice?

Well not an interview, but the date we were given for the appointment?
I assumed it was an interview based appointment, also for providing the portfolio?

no--no interview. after you have made the online application--and paid---you book a date to attend VFS to hand in documents and get biometrics taken.. then the long wait begins. i think 2-3 months is realistic. august the 1st isnt.

Many thanks to those who gave advice on my issue. I am happy to report that Blackburn with Darwen Registry Office were very helpful when I spoke to them, confirming that I could indeed book a provisional wedding date with them and following up by sending me an informative email. This is in stark contrast with Leeds Registry Office, who insisted they could not accept any provisional booking. :frust:
My conclusion is that Registry Offices seem to interpret Home Office guidelines differently, and applicants should always contact an alternative Office if their nearest one is unco-operative. As in any other field of life, there is usually another way around a problem!!;)

We can't retrieve anymore our older chat history from yahoo messenger and skype and our call logs from Lebara. I also do not have pictures with my fiancé's family when I visited UK. Do you think there is a need to explain why we can't provide these documents? But I do have loads of other pictures and chat history from Whatsapp etc.

It's important that you can provide proof of contacts during all the time that you are not together. If you really can't retrieve everything then try to explain that in your letter and just provide what you can.
