The visa appointment was Wednesday 12 July 2017 at VFS Abu Dhabi Visa Application Centre, using a standard service.

We received a response and the succesful visa on the 18th September.

The visa timescales said 100% of applications were completed within 90 days. Our application took 2 months, 6 days (68 days)

This is the table of contents of our submitted application (Maybe it all wasnt needed?)

May I ask, is it necessary to have evidence of ‘Utility bills’? I have provided copy of council tax.... Surely this is enough?

Is this because the application is in the uae? Not sure if all visas are processed in sheffield. Maybe selected countries like ph (and others).

Yes, its ok. My application was successful, visa granted :) IOM also said that if the visa was granted they will extend the validity for another 6 mos. Hope that puts your mind at ease :)

Chris can you please ask your partner which hospital or clinic in Dubai she had her tb test? My fiancé who lives in Dubai is urgently trying to find out.

    Many thanks in advance.

we are applying for Fiancé visa, so I am assuming this formal term is: Settlement-Marrage visa?

My fiancé just been on the ‘visa4uk’ webpage. It appear this is being updated and so can not complete process at the moment! Hmmmm. I assum this is still the correct webpage asshe is applying in Dubai!

    Another question
On the Fiancé visa application form or states:

    Travel Information
“How long do you intend to stay in the uk?”
I know the visa is for 6 months, but once we are married we will apply for next stage....... What is best response to this question.

    Thanks in advance.

Are you sure that she needs tb test? If she has a valid uae residence, i dont think its required. I think tb test is only required if the person is a resident of a certain country for at least 6 months. the below website doesnt include UAE in the list of countries requiring tb test.

    https://www.gov.uk/tb-test-visa

When we consulted an immigration lawyer, they told me that had i applied directly from dubai, i wont be needing the tb test.

UAE is very strict for TB - if a person is diagnosed with it at the time of application of work visa (everyone has a medical before they give you a visa), you will be required to go back home and if at any point a person gets sick with it, your visa will be revoked at once (if the authorities find out).

Fiancé visa - supporting letters. So far we have completed:
    1, My supporting letter
    2, List of contents.

My Fiancé is having difficulty writing her cover letter. What does she need to put? Is there any evidence available from Filipino perspective? The invitee so to speak.

Any help will be much appreciated.

she can put things like--how and when you met--how often have you seen each other--places youve been together. when and where you got engaged. when and where you plan to get married. try not to write a life story--an A4 page is enough.

Hi @John Martin you can also add your reasons that made you both decide to settle in the UK. I think this will make them know you have clean intentions ;)
