You don't need to worry about overdraft. My partner when we applied had an overdraft in his account and it wasn't a problem. What they only care is you meet the £18,600 requirement which you do. They don't care how you spend the money or how much is left in the account.

Sorry guys, I have another query which is a bit complicated...

I am living with my parents at the moment in a 3 bedroom semi-detached house. However, the issue is that they are just privately renting the house.

What requirements should I provide for the accomodation?

bigmac has already responded to me about this but need more advice witth someone probably from a similar experience or if you guys know someone with the same experience?

There is also the option of me renting my own place but I'm saving money now for all the fees.

Hope you guys can help me with this again!

    Many thanks

    Hi there

I am looking to get my fiancee to Scotland asap as she is based in Abu Dhabi, where we met almost 3 years ago now.
Last year we tried to gain a visitors visa which was denied so now looking at getting her over to get married & start a proper life together.
I have looked over the list that was started in 2011 & starting to piece together what i need to supply for the application for my fiancee.
Has the list been updated since 2011?
Any tips & advice would be grateful from any of you guys to try & make the application smooth as possible.
My fiancee just recently has done her IELTS exams, which she has passed with no problems despite her being stressed out with it.
    Thanks
    Craig

the requirements for a settlement :marriage visa ( fiancee visa ) changed in july 2012. there are several exhaustive threads on here that cover it all.

Am I correct in thinking the change(s) you refer to - from July 2012 - is/are the requirement for a 'minimum income' of the Sponsor? Any other major 'new' requirements?

honestly--i dont know what the old requirements were ! i got involved after july 2012. i think the income requirements--and exemptions---are now specific.

I think you need t look at the requirements as they are now, dont waste your energy on what they were.

Not sure what were the requirments back then but in summary you both need to submit the following:
    - filled application form (the one which is nearly 100 pages long)
    - you as sponsor need proof of annual income of more than £18,600 (so you need to provide letter of employment, bank statement and a payslip). There is a different requirement if you are self employed.
    - ielts
    - proof of accomodation in the uk
    - proof of relationship (you should have met at least once) this can be facebook photos, watsapp or skype messages (basically how you communicate when you are not together)
    - proof of future plans since you are planning to get married hence the fiance visa (a provisional booking with the civil registrar would do) but if you have engagement ring or engagement photos the better. This is the biggest part of the documentation because its very subjective.

Hello, zeija. In isolation your overdraft could lead to a refusal, but the existence of your savings account should offset concerns at UKVI. Obviously you should provide original savings account statements as well as current account statements in your application. As you comfortably exceed the minimum annual income requirement, I think a short note of explanation regarding the overdraft should suffice. I know the whole process is stressful (!), but the UKVI assessor is required to look at ALL the financial evidence you provide. Good luck!

Not true and the overdraft situation is irrelevant. The ECO will look at earnings or savings not the state of the current account.

Can my fiancé see a GP whilst on her 6 months fiancé visa? Or do we have to wait till we are married and have the next visa and also paid the NHS surcharge.

my fiancee did--in order to get a contraceptive prescription--which is free anyway.

as far as i know--there is no charge to register with--and consult--- a GP in the 6 months. but i cant see prescription meds being available for the standard fee.

I guess you want to know how far she has gone but a pregancy tester only costs a few quid.
