correct me if i'm wrong , Max..you attend the designated registrar to give--28 ? days notice--and you have to nominate a specific place date and time the marriage is to take place . even to the room if theres more than one.

@Mark0317 --you both have to attend to give notice--expect to be there an hour. you will each be interviewed separately--and together. it can get a bit involved. such as --birthday--parents names etc. this is to help discover sham marriages and arranged marriages.
you can find your designated register office online.

Hi Guys I really need your help this time. Me and my partner was just answering all the questions at Visa4UK for my Fiancee Visa Application, there was a section where it asked if I have ever given any UK Visa before and of course I answered Yes and additional question was that When it was issued and when it expired. I was looking at the dates on my UK Tourist Visa on my passport and it says FROM: 09/11/2017 Until 09/05/18 then I suddenly realized that 09/11/2017 is Actually means November 11, 2017 and 09/05/18 is actually means May 09, 2018 and that is exactly 6 months. My flight from UK to the Philippines was June 05, 2018 which is exactly 170th Days from the Date I arrived in UK December 17, 2017. Does that mean that I have overstayed in UK for 27 days??? The way we interpret the validity of Visa was from September 11, 2017 to Semptember 05, 2018 and I can only stay 180 Days from the Date I have arrived in UK that's why we made sure that I got home before 180 days. I am really nervous about this that it might greatly affect my Fiancee Visa Application. It was never our intention for me to overstay in UK because we know that I will be applying for a Fiancee Visa eventually. And if I indeed overstayed in UK, what suggestion do you guys have that we need to do to rectify this???? :( :( As far I can remember I did not have trouble at the Aberdeen International Airport on my way home to the Philippines and I also did not have any stamped on my passport upon exiting UK.

I suggest you say it in a letter that it was a genuine mistake. The way you understand the dates was how Filipinos would put it as we put month first then the date but I’m surprised your partner didn’t say owt about it when in the UK it’s always date/month/year and common sense that a tourist visa is only valid for 6 months. Explain in the letter that you’ve genuinely misunderstood the validity of your visa. Admitting to your mistake is better than not saying about it at all. That is my take on your situation. Don’t panic though just clearly state it on the letter.

Hi Guys!! I would like to ask where we could secure a Personal Details Form (VAF4A) ?

It says in Appendix 2 that I must also complete and submit the main Personal Details Form (VF4A), but when I tried searching the VAF4A thorugh www.gov.uk it is giving me Appendix 2 as a result. It seems to me that Appendix 2 is only part of VF4A.

That will be the form that you will complete online so you don’t need to print the paper form.

Hi @Heathen I was able to finally secure my appointment in Manila. What a stressful week. My Appointment is tomorrow and I am just finalizing my documents tonight. I have a question guys. On my application it asked for intedded date of travel. Do I need to provide a proof that I would indeed be travelling to the UK on whatever date I have written on the application? and If I do need what do kind of documents do you think I need to provide?

Thats good to hear that you have got your appointment. No you dont need to provide any proof, in fact the Visa website advises not to book tickets beforehand, as for your Intended travel date just bear in mind the time its taking to get an ordinary Visa decision, obviously priority is much quicker. Good luck.

We have the plan for applying a fiancee visa now but according to my fiance's friend he said our relationship is too early to apply and might be the reason of our visa refusal. Im just wondering if his friend could be correct?

Its up to you to show your relationship is genuine..you have met in person so..as long as your sponsor (fiance) meets the financial and accommodation criteria...you can apply..in spite of what his friend thinks.

Thank you very much bigmac. Sorry I am just new here and I am an old school still trying to figure out how things work here. But I am glad you have replied, so it meant I did at least. :like: So thank you. And now another concern of ours is that we are still confused if what is the best route we take for us to save money, effort and time for me to join my fiance in the UK, is it fiancee or spouse visa?

    youre doing fine.

fiancee visa means you come over to the UK and marry here..

spouse visa means you already got married in the philippines then come over to join your husband.

Yes, I understand the difference between the two, but what is the best route? Because my fiance got advice that for spouse we can save more money and effort. How true is this? Thank you.

Fiancee visa route is more expensive and up to 6 months longer.
Tell boyfriend to put aside about £3000 for first visa application plus plane ticket costs and wedding costs then a similar amount for 2nd FLR then about £5000 to £6000 for indefinite leave to remain and UK citizenship at the 5 year mark. ( current values)
