Hello. I hope you can help me. I am a Filipina and married to a British citizen. I received my dependant visa 3 months ago as a spouse. My husband and I would like to apply for my daughter visa so she could come here and live with us. He will be her Sponsor. How do I go about it?

My daughter is 15 years old last August 2018. My mother is looking after her in the Philippines and have been living with her all 15 years of her life.

    1. Which form to fill up for her application? I hope you can send me link for this.

    2. Requirements needed: is it the same as spouse visa requirements?

    3. English Test? Does she need this? if yes, which one to take?

    4. TB test: does she need this? Or full medical check up is required?

    5. Her father is in her birth certificate but he passed away last August 2016. I can get his birth certificate and death certificate copy. Will this suffice?

    6. Special power of attorney from Phil Emb - what are the things I need to write in there?

    7. My mother or my father will be accompanying her to VFS appointment and or to any other requirements she needs to complete like tb, medical, ielts (if in case she needs it) Do I need to make two Special power of attorney for them?

    8. It is either me or my hubby will pick her up in the Phils when she gets her visa approved.

    9. Does she need to get her education certification?

Any other tips for a smooth child visa application is very much appreciated.

Thank you all for your time and help. God bless!

Would the fact that the father has passed away not cover that?

how do you propose to prove you have sole responsibility for your daughter ? - The father passed away last Aug 2016. Do I still need to prove I have sole custody of my daughter? Or you mean the Sponsor (my husband) need to prove it?

1 same form as you completed
2 yes but sponsor needs to earn above £22400
    3. Not required under 18
    4. TB test at approved centre
    5 yes provide both
6 your the mother father is deceased I dont think you need it.
7just one but my wife wrote a letter only to give older daughter ability to sign on behalf of younger daughter.
8 suggest you or both not just hubby.

do you have sole custody of your daughter ?

    you put
"My daughter is 15 years old last August 2018. My mother is looking after her in the Philippines and have been living with her all 15 years of her life."
were you not there all that time ?

I was working abroad before and left my daughter to my mum. My daughter lives with my mum since and up to this day. Do I still need to prove I have sole custody of my child? If yes, what should I do? Can anyone tell me about the documents they have submitted and got accepted to prove sole custody of their child please with the same situation like mine.

I can obtain proof of remittances I sent to my mum. My mum has never worked and could not provide for my child. Hence, I am sure there will be no sole custody issue between me and my mum. Or is there? We also didn't write any agreements before I left my daughter stating I am leaving her under her care.

I can also get a notarized letter explaining the situation i.e that my daughter lives with my mother and I am the one providing for them. (if that helps or do I really need to get one?).

The father of my daughter may have helped in the past with the child's schooling, but he died last August 2016. Will that still be questionable or consider a ground for our application to be refused?

Anyone's advice is very much appreciated. Thank you all and God bless.

I would recommend that you collect your daughter from the Phils, when (hopefully) that time comes, otherwise the Philippines DWSD may not permit her to travel.

Also don't over complicate your application and dealings in the Philippines you need to satisfy UKgov not stir up a hornets nest in the Philippines it's a question of balance!

I agree with Mattercube it was a long time ago I did this for my stepson and the process was the same as you applying for your visa, I do remember including an email regarding education from the council. For us the application was granted within 10 days, this caused me all sorts of problems as I was expecting to wait a couple of months for a decision to have enough money to go and collect him.

I also have a friend she got her 16 years old daughter using that sole affidavit authenticated in the Phil embassy ( same case with yours, away from daughter for more than 10 years but still the one responsible financially and all, father is deceased).I got that idea from her when I applied for my child last year.
