The biggest issue I think is the probable level of sexual abuse that probably goes on within these communities yet gets hushed up. I am sure that far exceeds the grooming we know of, horrendous as it is. Its similar to the UK in the 60's and 70's which also hushed up sex abuse for fear of shame.

Its more common than people realise. My own mother was a victim whilst still at primary school. Something she only told me about recently. I had unwanted approaches by men as a youth a few times. God knows why, I was a long haired hippy. When I used to hitchhike back from Poly it was a common occurrence for the conversation to start getting awkward. Men can be predatory. More than we would like to admit. Our part in this is not to walk on by or turn away anymore.
