They are difficult countries to work in, in the Middle East. I spent 3 years on rotation in Libya and a year on rotation in Kuwait.
I think the lady may have stopped breathing after that last phone call to her family wasn't there a case in Kuwait I think? Guy told his filipina maid to feed and clean out his lion needless to say it ate her leg, she died.
My sis-in-law works in Kuwait as a maid, she has time to send photos and vids of her and friends having fun times. They must be lucky to have such good employers.
Kuwait is of course a state nestled in alongside Saudi and although a separate country in its on right has much in common with Saudi. Something you have to get used to very quickly out there is that when it comes to incidents, the foreigner (westerner) is never right. If involved in a car accident for example then it was always going to be the foreigners fault in the eyes of the justice system. This was the same in Libya. At the time at least, driving skills of the local population were very poor leading to frequent accidents. If you as a Brit were unlucky enough to be in amongst it then you got the blame. .
Indeed. Even before I had visited the Philippines, in some respect I had already done so. But I have come across a few on these forums that couldn’t understand that. Having spent a lot of time in some challenging countries I was already 50% briefed before setting foot on the tarmac at NAIA
I went there from HK, never forgot being picked up in an old jeep the driver of which said he had the perfect hotel for me and my mate, we were baby faced kids, didn't even shave, he deposited us at a brothel on Del Pilar Street small wonder the receptionist gave us an odd look when we asked for a double room single-beds all night, she must have thought we were into some kinky s**t
