IELTS test--and FLR

my wifes 2nd FLR is due later this year. her previous IELTS test has long expired.
can someone say--for certain-----which tests she needs for this next FLR.

We are using British Council location dependant I guess

The main thing is, make sure you go to an approved centre and do the correct test.

We actually did an invalid test first time - one which is, apparently, approved for citizenship but not for FLR/ILR. So be sure to get it correct. It's easy to take your eye off the ball.

she will be going to Highbury college portsmouth to do it. not many UKVI approved places outside london

Make sure it' General Training and not the student one!

theres the issue--there is one called general training--another is A2. she took general training last time--but i dont think its the right one .

Some people have been going for the B1 so they don’t have to take again when ILR application comes. I’m tempted to do this when I do my FLR next year but I’m a bit skeptical.

how long is b1 valid for ?

i heard that, im planning to take B1 by year 2020 for my FLR M, but im still not sure if is this really acceptable in ukvi for FLR M application.

It’s also for two years @bigmac but some of them who went for the B1 and applied for FLR has no problems with it. If it expires you can use it again for iLR as it is already B1 as long as it’s still with the accepted English test provider.

Has the rule changed since I applied for my 2nd FLR last year? I used my expired IELTS and they accepted it.

What's your IELTS? A1 or A2? I've seen some posts that their visa apps were rejected coz they used their old IELTS A1 to apply their 2nd FLRM even if they had it from approved centre. Some posts said it's ok to use the old one.

It's ok to use an old one that's been accepted before, but it has to be at a high enough level. An A1 is not at a high enough level for the second FLR.

After doing the wrong test first time, we just went and did the relevant test each time at Trinity College. It was pretty easy and you knew you had the right thing.

My IELTS was before the A1 and above individual levels took place. I took the Academic Module which includes listening, reading, writing and speaking tests with scores equivalent to C1, I think.
