    ILR (Settlement)

When exactly to apply when selecting the Super Priority Service?

My Wife arrived in the UK on the 14th of April 2014, her visa runs out on the 25th of June 2019

We wish to make an appointment in Glasgow on Monday the 3rd of June so can we go online 28 days before this date to pay and make the appointment or must if be 28 days before her visa expiry date?

    Cheers,

    Kevin

I applied for flr but process online is the same. It is easy to get an appointment for standard or superpriority, you can even see available dates and time slots within 5 days of online submission with service centres close to your area. I’ve registered online more than 28 days before my visa expired and only confirmed and paid 3 weeks before visa was due. I availed superpriority and opted for a Saturday schedule for an additional cost.

Also, I can see why they recommend self uploading of supporting documents. My appointment did not take 30 mins as everything was in order and they did not have to scan my paperwork. I brought originals with me for them to check as well. This saved me time and I did not have to worry about them missing documents to be scanned.

    Thanks for this information.

I have completed the form and saved it. For ILR the next thing to do is pay.

Standard service : pay 2408.20 GBP, most people get a decision within 6 months after attending their biometrics appointment
    or
Super Priority : pay 3018.20 GBP, most people get a decision on the next working day after attending their biometrics appointment

So I am thinking now I can not pay and book our appointment in Glasgow until 28 days before my wife's visa ends and not the 28 days before we want our appointment or can we? Its very confusing. My wife actually arrived in the UK on the 14th of April 2014

I might have to call them yet..

I will start to scan and save all of our documents so they are ready to upload at the time. I am guessing we also need to scan and upload our 2 and half years worth of documents to show we have been living together? That's a lot of scanning!!

Hate the waiting and simply don't have 6 months to spare any more... My wife's visa expires on the 25th of June

    youve lost me there.

surely if you do the normal non priority application within the time frame your wife will still be on FLR till the ILR is approved ?

I am simply thinking as the non priority application can take 6 months to get a decision.

We only have just over 3 and a half months before her visa expires. Her visa expires on the 25th of June 2019

From the moment we applied to when we got the decision took less than a month, but it did say it can take up to 6 months in the application.

I don't know if we were unusual in that, but it was all done very quick.

We just did a normal application.

    I hear you graham.....

With 3 and half months left not sure I am willing to take the chance....

When I last checked the visa situation back in October the situation was the same, I kind of knew what I was doing.

Now its all changed, I will suss things out and document my progress as I go.....

As long as you've applied before the expiry date, you're fine.

You don't need to have the actual BRP before FLR runs out.

bigmac. I know I am writing on a fairly old post but as you have been through the process of 2nd FLR maybe you can help me out?
My wife's Spouse visa was issued 20 Aug 2019 to 20 May 2022. She arrived in UK 5 Sept 2019 and collected her BRP which of course states Leave to Enter. Not long after that we changed her Filipina passport to show her married name, then of we had to get a new BRP issued showing her married name too. That BRP now shows as Spouse/Partner Leave to Remain. I know I still have more than 6 months to arrange things but does it make any difference with her BRP showing LTR and not LTE? Do Immigration contact me nearer the time for renewal or is it down to me to start the process when ever - and when should that be in present climate?

Ĺthe earliest you can apply is 28 days before your brp expiry date ie in your case the 22nd April 2022.
You need to start the application no one will get in touch with you

The other bit your wife entered on leave to enter on a passport in her name she has updated her name a d a new BRP card issued as she has already entered the UKBA update saying she can LTR

By default anyone who has leave to enter can remain for the duration of their visa what ukba won't do is once you've entered update to Ltr for the fun of it.
They update when your circumstances change.
    New name
    Visa extension

The system will ask you what it requires you to provide at the end of the application however just work on what you previously supplied in applications only updated recent bank statements pay slips valid IElts certificate at correct level.
You do not pay NHS surcharge

That's brilliant! Also, do I need to provide Life in the UK cert on my application or only if I'm applying for citizenship? I haven't taken mine yet
