When i use our Internet at home maximum 4 accessories using it at anyone time the Internet appears to what I would call stall, and a rotating sort of circle appears.
Is this to do with Internet speed or and my smart TVs ability to process the signa
    NB we have a boosterl

Hmmm... maybe have a look on Reddit for suggestions as to how you can improve the service from your provider - 4 accessories only just covers your pc, tv and phone!

Think we're lucky here (atm) with Globe... I've got maybe 50 or so devices connected sometimes!

Who's your provider and what's your contracted speed?

Also what's the result of an Ookla speedtest?

In the age of IoT (Internet of things) your router should cope with 30 or more devices simultaneously, should be true for any modern router.

I'm running a great many smart plug switches, lights and cameras on a Plusnet Hub 2 which is essentially identical to the BT Hub 2 I had for the last two years even the Sky router I had in my old flat on a slower connection could cope easily.

Search in a web browser for Speedtest by Ookla, when you find the site click the Go button, they're the biggest online Speedtest site.

i hated talk talk--and they stuffed me with a exit charge EVEN though i was out of contract with them.

Switched to Wightfibre--full fibre into the room £30 a month

I'm lucky to be living in a part of Wales where Telcom Group have rolled out gigabit full fibre network. We get 1 gig fibre for just £20 a month, (rising to £25 next month.)

So that's 520 kbps downstream and 9.5 Mbps upstream?

If that's your down stream speed then that explains it.

Get your family to switch off their phones and then repeat the test with only one device attached to the Internet.

I hate TalkTalk too, you need to find out what speed you should be getting and complain.

If you don't mind me asking how much are they charging you?

And is it a fibre connection or old fashioned copper?

12 mbps is pathetic it's nigh on impossible that it's fibre.

Another question does your phone or tablet overheat a lot, if they do you might have a virus.

some fibre is only as far as the cabinet in the street--if the only line into the house is the BT phone line--then its not full fibre--yet.

i'm getting 150 down and 160 up. Plenty for my usage.

In the Philippines it's interesting, they don't seem to throttle upload speed, so you get a nearly synchronous experience, we're the same in Manila and about the same speed as you for 1899 peso a month.

Here it's still very async unles you pay a lot for synchronous, this is from a test on my phone just on the WiFi.

If it were on my wired computer the one attached the router by ethernet cable the upload would be a fraction faster about 110 mbps maybe a little more but the download would be well over 900 mbps, that's costing me £33.99 a month now, 2 year contract.

By the way I went with BT around 9 months after I moved to this house as I needed OpenReach to install the fibre to the premises FTTP and the ONT (Optical Network Terminal) and I felt that BT would manage the process best even though they don't own OpenReach anymore, I got the 500 Mbps package and a digital phone line which I never used.

My last bill in September with BT had gone up from 68 quid a month to 73 something so with Plusnet (who BT own) I'm saving 40 quid a month for nearly double the speed, although above about 150mbps nobody will really see any difference in the response of web sites or in streaming from the likes of Netflix and certainly not anyone who lives alone like me.
