    Hi Joy,
At first let me say that A1 is just the level of achievement. It is not an examination in itself.

IELTS is at a significantly higher level than A1 and also is not such an easy test.

There are quite a few different tests that can be taken.

Take a look here to see which providers are currently approved, where they are located and the test that they offer:-

May I also suggest you take a look here:-
(Please read the posts made and check out the links if you have more questions just post here, plenty of us will help)
    http://www.british-filipino.com/sho...ewers-for-IELTS-exam-for-those-getting-a-Visa

It seems to me reading your posts that even at the higher level of IELTS, you should be OK to make at pass level. (B1)

The UKBA currently only requires a very basic level (A1) for Speaking and Listening.

    Hope this helps.
Please ask any question at any time.

    Hi Joy,

Just for additional information and interest please also take a look here:-
    http://www.cambridgeesol.org/exams/general-english/fce.html

Check out test centres for various exams here:-
    http://cambridgeesol-centres.org/centres/index.do

British council are also conducting KET, PET, BEC and FCE exams all are calculated as level A1.

IELTS is not so easy, its an all day long test, the pass mark is about 4, I think some of the A1 equivalents like TOEIC may be a bit easier
    http://www.toeic-phil.com/index.htm

    The UKBA site states that,
"In the test, you will need to demonstrate a basic command of English (speaking and listening) at level A1 of the Common European Framework of Reference Someone assessed at level A1 can understand and use simple, everyday expressions and very basic phrases.
You will not need to demonstrate your reading and writing skills. The minimum standard that you must meet is in speaking and listening at level A1 of the Common European Framework of Reference. "

    Practice, practice, and more practice.
A1 level is not too tricky. (Well so I've heard :) )

I think the British Council have a centre in Cebu. Could be useful to contact.
