i'm very interested in following what you say about your daughter's schooling. my wife's son will have to attend school when he gets here--hopefully in the new year. i'm so out of the loop as regards rules and regs of the UK education system

I don't think your thread has bombed at all: you've had a number of on-topic replies it hasn't been hijacked or anything like that. It's more a case of you being amongst a subset of members here who have very young children. Nothing at all to do with where you happen to be in your immigration journey.

Whilst almost all the traffic is westbound, there is still a need for expertise and experience of all things Filipino. The number of new members asking for advice about the country might surprise you. Also many married members choose to accompany their wives for visits to family and friends.

We need to get away from being a Britain-centric forum and be more encompassing of things Filipino. Some may believe this to be unnecessary, I don't.

I did not need the replies. I was trying to generate interest.

What a strange thing to say! How are other members supposed to demonstrate interest if not by replying?

I see. I have met a number of couples in a similar position to your own including up until the age of 18, but I have not experienced your situation myself. But maybe others on the forum can shed some light.

You constantly berate the UK whilst living in the Philippines.
You are right... it is NOT the point

You have just convinced me that putting politics elsewhere will not curb your postings.

We are in the wrong thread here BigMac. :)

If his English is good and I suspect it will be, then he will probably hit the ground running. Probably a good idea to visit the school though ahead of his arrival.

Ah so that's your aim. To shut me up. Curb my freedom of speech. You're running true to form, Mr Ash. I will not be intimidated by you and I will continue to post here as and when I wish. If you don't like that, too bad. You are free to leave.

Because a democratic decision tends to be more readily accepted than an order. There are always going to be those who just disagree with an order just to be difficult. I'm kind of waiting for @HaloHalo or another admin response to your idea and the notion of a poll. As for the rest of the above, gosh. Guys we are grown men here. Why don't you consider defusing rather than escalating? It's not a sign of weakness you know!

Its not rocket science is it!!
Keep the dirty washing where those that wish to sign up can dive into it or not!.......Bahala ka jan!
Why is common sense so complicated for some so called Admin?
Anyone that signs up must tick a box which says...By ticking that "box"they may be confronted with views that they may or may not disagree with and that they may or may not occasionally be offended by ...

If admin dont adopt these hidden political or religious sub forums,I have no sympathy for them to be honest,or the integrity of the forum they operate..
