Yes you are correct nothing we can do really , its not 6 months yet so no point in contacting anyone, some say 4 Months which we are nearly at, its tedious frustrating and will spoil holiday plans, we can always go phils for a break so its not all bad, the only positive thing s after this we won't have to do anything regarding visas etc and all the B/S that incurs, makes your blood boil when you see people in dinghys treated better than people who are paying their way and doing things correctly not landing here and expecting everything for free.

Thanks for all your help Mattecube , in case anyone else is looking in we spent around £12,000 in total for settlement visas and B/C without any legal help or quick decisions, think its more now with the NHS and visa fees rising, and of course earnings are a lot higher, its not easy that's for sure at the moment, but good luck to all ...

Yes initial settlement visa with hotels in Manila for language course T/B certificate, then further leave to remain fees., then indefinite leave to remain fees, the B/C fees it all adds up without the flights, you have the NHS fees as well a lot of money to find, its a long arduous journey for most.

That's good to hear. When she get her certificate of naturalisation make sure the details was correct and they write the date on her certificate. My colleague just find out that her certificate of naturalisation has an error when she process her British passport. The Home Office sent her certificate back to UKVI and until now she's still waiting for her passport ,it's been 8 weeks now . I have my British passport within 12 days. I hoped this helps.

Good advice on checking the passport as heard of another case where certificate was wrong. Need to check dates, first, middle and surname and that they match your philippines passport.

You have to sign it too, in the Philippines, as my wife found out recently when she tried to take her English test :D

We started this journey in June, and still waiting. Indefinite Leave to Remain at over 10 years, so would have thought this is straight forward, but evidently not.

Have been looking at the timelines on the "ImmigrationBoards" thread (useful thread) and the people who applied in mid-July are now being accepted, but we are still in the queue. Does make me anxious thinking about what may be causing ours to take longer :-(

It's strange that the "good news" is only relayed on Mondays. I'm guessing that "bad news" happens on only Mondays too?

Monday is a case of constantly checking e-mails. When it gets to 3pm, the heart sinks and there's another week of waiting and googling anything to do with rejections. It does make the mind go to dark places.

Hmmm... hang on in there, you can understand why people prefer to use the rubber boat option... :like:

Shame to see posts like this here, when we all should know exactly how the system works.

Seeking asylum is not illegal. Having a broken Asylum system that keeps people (75% of whom get accepted) is a political ploy to distract us from the cock-ups that the previous Government were making. I am neither Labour, nor Tory.

We know how the system should work. Someone arrives, asks for asylum, and is processed in 4-6 months. At that point, they are either sent back or are allowed to live, love and work in the UK.

Instead, they are herded into hotels at great expense to us, at great irritation to those places that seem to bear the brunt of the crisis, and we get the likes of Farage etc using it as a crowbar to end all migration and, eventually (because this is the logical next step) deportations. Regardless of visa status and, dare I say, even non-birth citizenship status.

I didn't think this forum would be a place for such views, considering we are all adding to the perceived migration issues that the right are trumpeting. I'm sure some of us have even witnessed racism against our spouses at first hand - I know I have, from her being refused a table in an empty restaurant, to being called a "P*k* b*tch" - so the likes of the ****-faced Tommy Robinson are pretty much indiscriminate when dealing out their hatred.

The numbers arriving on boats are, in the grand scheme of things, pretty low. Something like less than 1% of all immigration. When they talk of "mass immigration" they are talking about our spouses as much as the people on boats. That much has to be clear by now. First it will be the Muslims (most of which are decent folks). Then, who next?

    Hi mate,

We haven't had the decision yet, so not quite ready for congratulations.

My wife made the payment during the application. Once all questions have been answered, they take you to the checkout and my wife paid by Debit Card. I think Credit Card options are available.

The form is more straightforward than the FLR/ILR/Fiancee ones we filled in.

Frustrating how long the process takes and in wife's case took about 7 months but that was partly down to application route we had to follow and know that similar applications using that route took a similar amount of time.

Not a lot that can do to apply any pressure on getting information until the six months point. Might be worth raising a subject access request to see if anything in there or any clues. That said that will take a month or more but it is free so nothing lost.

Once get near the six months point have the opportunity to start raising complaints and using MP to try and get answers. Before that likely to get the takes up to six months response.

An email to MP might still be useful pointing out that other applications are being decided a month after you applied so not clear what is holding things up.

MP enquiring I think does make a difference. Result of wife's application was emailed to me as opposed to her and I suspect that was down to me asking MP when got to six months point to make inquiries. If using MP then need to give them letter from your wife to Home Office authorizing release of information to MP. Pretty sure my details were not in her application so only place I can think of to send response to me was as a result of query raised via MP. Poor response by Home Office as results should have been sent to her email address and still irritates me a bit that sent to me as opposed to her but a result at least.

Yes, we are within the 6 month limit so have to be patient I guess. Just following various timelines on another forum, and I was expecting the result a few Mondays ago along with the others who applied the same time.
