Has anyone had issues with their Philippines marriage certificate at the RP embassy in London?

Phil marriage cert? Are you pertaining to the Report of Marriage or the authenticated one? Had issue before but I got the RoM already.

You wedded in Phil? if yes, then you have to request the cert from PSA (Philippine Statistic Authority).

If you married here, you have to submit RoM so as to register in Phil.

Yes we have that with stamps on and all that. However when we went to the embassy in London they would not accept it as the back of the certificate was white not coloured!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:eek: if it's PSA authenticated, they will accept it

Can I ask why you're submitting the marriage cert? Is it for your wife's passport renewal?

Unfortunately the colour (and weight) of the paper is significant, it's one of the 'security' features. My advice would be to have a relative (or lawyer) obtain a fresh certificate and have it authenticated ("red ribboned") by the DFA in Manila. The embassy has to accept that.

DFA doesn't issue marriage certificates but will authenticate one if asked (and paid).

Yes, only the PSA can issue the marriage certificate when registered. DFA can only authenticate.

Had the same issue when I applied for passport renewal and hoping to change from maiden to married name. I ended up using my maiden name as they won't accept the stamped Report of Marriage form (which is the only requirement they put on their website). I was so annoyed. I asked my mum back in the Philippines to get one for me from PSA. It took months, just in time for my mum-in-law had a holiday in the Philippines and brought it with her back in England. So we didn't have to pay for any courier service.

It was a nightmare we had the PSA stamp on and it looked ok the guy at the counter said it was on the wrong paper yellow at the front but not yellow on the back!
