Marriage registration and passport renewal

Hello,
I would like to ask questions about my current situation.

First thing, I got married here in the UK last 2015 with an EU national. I just found out this year that I also have to register my marriage in Philippine embassy (feeling like a fool). Is it possible to do it only by post? Can I do it in Edinburgh?

Secondly, my passport will expire in January 2018, I have to renew it with my spouse's surename end of this year. Is it possible to do it together (register of marriage & renewal of passport)? How long each process normally takes? Just for us to know how many days off to take. Me & my husband are both working & we have only few holidays left for this year.

I think you can register your marriage by post but you have to go to attend in person when renewing the passport. I'm not quite sure with the process so let's wait and hear from the others.

If that's possible then it would be great! I just can't afford to travel twice this year to London from the uttermost part of Scotland.

If you do travel to London I think you can do it at the same time. Register the marriage and renew the passport.

There is an outreach program held by the PH embassy scheduled in edinburgh sometime in september. You can register your marriage there and no need to take day off since outreach is usually on a saturday.

The fees and requirements are in the website as well. You can do both things - register marriage and renew passport at the same time. I did mine last Feb in manchester outreach. It took exactly 8 weeks for me to get my updated passport.

If you have a confirmed appointment, the process with the outreach just took less than an hour (queue (since some pinoys didnt book appointment) and some announcements included).
