hello, my fiancé, Marian, has just left the UK at the expiration of her 6 month tourist visa.
We are getting married in October on Pangasinan/Philippines.
I have my certificate of non impedimentbto marry from the uk.
I am struggling to find out what requirements I need to get out in the Philippines, I have a feeling I need to get something from the embassy in Manila but can't find much information.
Can anyone help me with this please?

    Many thanks ☺️

    Hello.

    See this.

You will need to perform the above steps to obtain the sealed affidavit from the British Embassy. You do not need a UK issued 'certificate of no impediment' but it can't hurt to have it.

Once you have the sealed document, you will need to take it, and some other documents, and all your filipino partners documents, to the town hall (you will have made an appointment there) and hence register your intention to marry. You will then receive the wedding license after roughly 2 working weeks.

Once you have the wedding license, you can then marry at the venue of your choice.

Be aware that some provinces require the couple to attend counselling sessions before they marry. You will need to get the exact requirements from your town hall. You may also require a CENOMAR certificate for the British party - you will certainly need a CENOMAR for the filipino partner.

    Hi all!!

Could anyone tell me once you have had the appointment in the british embassy in manila and have handed them the affidavit form and signed it, do you get it back straight away or is i posted or do you have to personally come to collect it after a set number of days?

Also how long is it valid for?

Im getting married on 28th June and plan to go to manila at the end of march to go to the embassy.

    Regards

    Terry

Some priests and Pastors or Judges that will officiate the wedding ceremony "may or may not ask CENOMAR from a foreigner marrying in the Philippines.Just to prove you were never married there. PSO is now seriously doing their job tho'.:)

do they keep your birth certificate and decree absolute certified copies at the british embassy in manila or do you get them back after they look at them?

You get everything back before you leave the embassy, its actually a rather pleasant experience, you can take your partner with you if you want..

I guess it all depends on local requirements, for my wife and me, we had to jump through numerous hoops, Cenomar for my wife, Cenomar for me, Tree Planting Certificate, Marriage Counselling, and something else but i cant recall what it was, this was for a Civil Wedding at the City hall, with the Deputy Mayor officiating..

    For ours (Civil...2015) :

(Married by the local Mayor at the Municipal Hall).

Check with the Registrar which 'Legal Capacity' you will need.
