Martin Peters, who scored England's second goal in the 1966 World Cup final against West Germany, has died aged 76 following a long battle with Alzheimer's disease RIP
4years older than me. How many retired footballers are suffering brain related injury problems after many years of high impacts with sodden heavy leather balls. I caught one full in the face as a young teenager. Never again.
I used to go and watch this player many years ago. (Alan Shearer did a documentary on the pitfalls of heading a football, only relatively recently).
My brother in law has Alzheimer's disease, he played Center half for Bolton Wanderers and Tranmere Rovers. Could there be some connection between the two.
