Is this a British chap we are talking about here?

It sounds to me that he lacked good manners and was quite selfish, everything was about what he wanted, you deserve better, dust yourself down and try to move on putting this bad experience behind you.

Unfortunately, he is an English guy... Sigh! Why do I like British people, I can't figure out, nor I do know. I wish I just can remove this like for Brits that quickly...

I hope that this experience with a disrespectable English chap doesn't put you off, I'm surprised and a little niggled by his behaviour, he certainly was not flying the flag for us.

I hope you can post a success story in the near future.

Thank goodness you hadn't flown over to the UK to meet him...and got left to fend for yourself here. Just write it off to experience!

I don't think I would have done it that way @bigmac. I took the risk of meeting him as I'm comfortable it is my country :).. Maybe chatting for just one month is too short. I've considered him stranger since the last time I seen him..

That's a shame things didn't work out Lorena. Of course there are genuine British guys out there, but also lots of 'chancers' and 'users' mainly looking for sex, so be on your guard.
A lot of guys also fail to realise the significence of the differences in our cultures... or are maybe just too lazy or selfish to make the effort to find out.... in their rush to hook a young princess.

I think 1 month of communicating online is far too brief a period to even SAFELY meet a stranger from another country.

Anyway, good luck in the future. Keep your 'common sense' head on. ;)

Sometimes you meet someone and it doesn't work out. That's just the way things go.

It is a gamble because even with Skype its not close to being in somebody's company and space all the time. People can turn Skype off, make themselves unavailable etc but not when you are spending time together. Lorena's guy sounds like he will have issues with everybody he meets. He's just too selfish.

I'm coming to the end of the two weeks with Mica and we've gone from the initial adrenaline rush into domesticity it seems. Dreading the trip to the airport for the flight home on Friday though. I've two nights of farewell parties and I really just want to spend it one on one but when in Rome.... Pass me some more cheap brandy!

Thanks, we did. Not sure what to do next now. I'm not sure how people deal with LDRs. Its heart breaking

We're taking it day by day and keep talking as much as possible and i don't get out there until December. It's a long road but it's got to be worth otherwise why would people do it, just keep with it one day at a time.
