Meghan Markle is part of the firm now, in case you missed it, which is strange because you like the family o_O
The 1997 ITV telephone poll result showed that 66% of voters wanted a monarch and 34% did not.
I bet the figure for not wanting monarchy is more than 1/3 now.
If there is 67 million people in the UK, my maths gives 20 million plus who couldn't care toohoots about the monarchy.

Let's see a link to the results of this "poll" you say ITV conducted in 1997. The rest is pure unsubstantiated conjecture on your part.

"toohoots" - what is "toohoots", for the second time of asking?

Really, my father used the term all the time or maybe you are complaining about the word 'too' being used instead of 'two '.

It is equivalent to 'frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn'.

I suppose all facts/polls about any issue depends where people get their information.
Even in your example, Markham, 24% of the population (67 million) is a lot of people and is over 16 million people that want a republic/president.
Quite a shockingly high amount of people who are disaffected with the monarchy

Again you're exaggerating the facts in a bid to prove your point. Take a look at the pie chart again:

    upload_2019-10-6_14-11-49.png

The little red coloured arc represents the 17% of the population who'd prefer the UK was a republic. So the actual figure isn't 20 million or even 16 million but 11.4 million. Big difference. But not as big as the 51 million who are happy with the monarchy.

It was clearly stated in an earlier post that the support for the monarchy was in decline,it is anything but.
You will always get the detractors to any argument and debate on any subject, what you cant do is throw up poll results showing how many detractors there are but when a poll showing how much support there is on the subject say "ah but I suppose its where you get your poll from!

Long live the Queen, her successors and the Monarchy as a whole.

I just can't get my head around how anyone could support an unknown person of unknown ability and unknown personality.

Nor I! But in terms of the present Queen, Prince Charles and William I don't believe you could level they are unknown in any way shape or form.
I am equally sure that future monarchs will be equally skilled to deal with the modern world at the time.
I am a Royalist and proud of the fact.
