I think that I done with my time in work. It's enough. Time to retire now.
And that's why I have a question for you. I've been and see some of the parts of philippines. But there are beautiful places everywhere. I dont want to live in a big city. I want a wild nature of the provinces. Forests, rivers, sea and beaches, mountains and friendly and very nice province people. In may i was visiting family of my girl in province in Leyte. Last time i was visiting palawan and stopped in a province somewhere in the middle betwen the Puerto princesa and Roxas. I liked it very much but.....
It will be very hard decision where to settle down because like i said everywhere is a very beautiful scenery and i only seen very little part of philippines.
So maybe you can advice me. :)
Where are a good places to live ?
What are your suggestions ? :)
I see myself in future as a man who travel a lot hiking to see beautiful and wild parts of the country. With a house on the beach and as a hobby to not be too bored doing some farming. Any ideas ? :)

I wouldn't be so eager in cutting bridges behind me.......
Apart from the sporadic holiday, nothing attracts my imagination in that way.

But you always could ask the ones that have been in-country for a while, for pointers.

I would suggest Bohol.. Been here close on 9 years and absolutely NO regrets......kin love it here.
My biggest regret would have been not leaving the U.K when I did 9 years ago...NO doubt about it..Rid your life of Grayness..
    Come visit paradise ASAP..

Ive said it before, nicest and quietest place ive stayed in Pinas is Camotes Island. Rural bliss. Problem now is i need to discover more places like that.

That's exactly what my problem is. I seen some beautiful and nice places but I am sure that there's lot of more even nicer and better places. And problem with men is that you always want to have what is the best. :)
I think it will be lots of travel and explore before I choose my perfect spot. :)

Nobody can answer that question apart from yourself.

You could retire in the Yorkshire Dales, or in the Philippines, in Thailand, Spain, Mexico, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, so many countries, the world is your oyster.

Hint: if you ever find yourself drinking beer for breakfast - time to move on.

The words what you quoted was not a question. It was just like a prologue of the main question. I will retire now and I know I can do it anywhere in the whole world wherever I want. But I put a question on this forum to hear what suggestions you have for a retirement in Philippines. I can ask you the same question about New Zealand for example but neither me or probably you too don't have any informations about that country.

And as for beer I am doing my best to eat as healthy as I can. I don't remember when I was drinking beer for the last time. I am cooking for myself now and I eat lots of vegetables and some fruits every day. I don't eat meat, but I eat healthy fish everyday. I am doing some exercises too 3 times a week. In the last year my weight fall down 20 kilo. So you don't have to worry. I don't have to change anything. ;)

I never implied it was the whole question, hence the three "..." after the quote. Quite happy to edit it if you wish.

Just that I have seen so many people who appear to have fallen into the old trap of ending up somewhere where they no real security, with nothing meaningful to do in the daytime, and they end up on the downward slope.

I think the important point to settling down is getting a good relationship with someone you trust, then your place to retire will be more obvious.

edit: And I do like beer, but never before the middle of the evening. :D

I am in the relationship with the wonderful girl, but she say she want to be just by my side, wherever I go. And she didn't see much of the Philippine country. Just the place where she live and that's it. So she can't give me much of the inspiration. ;)

And really, you don't have to worry about me going on downward slope. I am still young. I'm 36 right now. In my future I have to start a new family. When some children arrive I will be having more than enough things to do. :p
But I just always like to plan everything very well. That's why I want to choose perfect spot for me and my future family. ;)

It's not a secret. Maybe I just use this retirement word in a different way than I should but I just mean to stop working and do some of the investment to give me nicely monthly income.
I will not take anything from the government. I just want to build my retirement source myself. ;)
