Very interesting. This kind of thing has been campaigned for, for some time now. It has come to fruition. It has surprised me that it has taken someone like Duterte to push this stuff through, ruffling feathers along the way. But then maybe I shouldn’t be surprised. What is also a surprise for many, is that they thought actions like this would never happen.

The Jeepneys are being dealt with, something else that many felt would never happen. So more to come no doubt.

It could potentially affect a lot of people, including those parking outside their own house.

    Anyone notice he`s English??
He was on my YT list as I once watched him review local CDR king solar panels..He knows his stuff in regards electronics but he seems a bit naive in regards the way things have always worked here for locals...The MMDA are still the same incompetent EEdyots they were before...All the fuss and sudden change happening now is because DU30 gave them a kick up the ass and issued them veiled threats IMO..
Will the change continue? Time will tell!!

I did, but there seems to be a hint of a foreign edge to his accent - not sure.

My wife has often moaned about having to walk in the road as the pavements are otherwise taken by parked cars etc etc.

Maybe the people as a whole will realise the benefits of the changes and won’t want to revert to the way things were. Dunno?

In years to come they might be talking about the “Duterte Revolution”.

Trouble is,there are nearly 13 million people now in Manila...The area was never built or planned for a mass of people of that proportion..
Removing illegal transportation from the roads will only make it harder and more expensive for the poor bastards to get to work..
Unless they physically create jobs further into northern and southern Luzon and provide new roads and infrastructure to get there, these operations are like putting a plaster on a major amputation..
The only other answer is to have a one child policy or persuade the Catholic church to ORDER their congregation to use condoms for at least the next 30 years!!
    More chance juggling soot IMO.

I drive past or should I say through a village street every morning and evening to get my daughter to school. All those terraced houses have a car and they are parked half on and half off the pavement. I do not know what will happen when the law changes here or how they are going to charge their EVs in the future. :D

Not wishing to turn this into a political thread but Duterte has a large mandate for a cleanup job and that is what he is doing.

The MMDA say they will remove any illegally parked car on, or blocking the side walk..
If you own a car, have off road parking or a garage or it will be towed!!
Glad I don`t live there any longer.
I agree. It`s good what they are doing but like I said,Manila is no longer fit for purpose.

They're cracking down in Dumaguete too, Hence my Parking ticket. I parked outside the bank not even on the highway only a tiny no parking sign that I observed later on my return. I thought that was for a driveway next to the sign. Nowhere to park in this tiny City.

I remember seeing large numbers of school kids in Dasma walking in the road (main road) as they couldn’t walk on the pavement as it was taken by parked vehicles . And then the traffic could hardly move along the road as the school kids were walking in the road.
