Windy, at the moment! I live in the Northern Isles. Getting my UK NARIC sorted out this month to see what my Ph degree is equivalent to in the UK. Feeling very antsy about it. Fingers crossed!

So you've been relaxing the past year then? :D If you've graduated in one of the big universities in the Philippines then that would be good I guess. I don't think my Bachelor's degree in Education would be of any importance and/or equivalent when I get there :D

September 29, 2015 to October 23, 2015 that was not even a month of waiting! Did they introduced the 'fast service' that time? Reading posts in here and I knew a friend usually results come within 5-6 weeks.

Hi guys! Just to double check. For those who are under category A of the financial requirements. Until which section belongs to that category? I answeredthe form until section 3.22. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks!

Hi! I hope someone could help me here about the completion of VAF4A Part 3A. I am the sponsor and my husband is the applicant for uk spouse visa. I got promoted in October so my salary increased from November onwards.

The answer to 3.11 would be the lower annual salary (salary before promotion), 3.12 would then be "NO" and another "NO" for 3.13. Then I would need to answer 3.20? If I would, what amount should I be putting?

3.11 What is your sponsor’s annual income from this employment before tax?

3.12 Has your sponsor been in employment with the same employer and earning the amount, as detailed in 3.11 above,
continuously for 6 months prior to the date of the application? (Category A)

3.13 Has your sponsor had other salaried employment, in the UK, in the 12 months prior to the date of application?
(Category B) Put a cross (x) in the relevant box

3.20 What was your sponsor’s total income (before tax) from salaried employment in the 12
    months prior to the application?

    Thanks in advance! :)

Hi guys! What does this vfs global means about self assessment form if applying for a settlement visa. Attached is a screenshot of the guide from vfs global. Thanks Screenshot_2017-01-18-14-17-36.png

The self assessment doesn't apply to your case I believe so don't worry about that. There's only 2 forms necessary for your application the online form and the Appendix 2 so don't bother with having the self assessment form.

    Hey Cha,
Thanks for sharing your experience. This really does take months and months to figure out and compile.

My wife and I are also on the verge of applying for a spouse visa, but have a few questions:

1.Whats the difference between the marriage certificate and marriage contract? What we plan to submit is a certified true copy of the marriage certificate (Stamped by the civil registrar)
2.I understand my wife only needs to take a signed copy of the online application form (Settlement/ Spouse) and her passport to VFS in Manila and have her biometrics taken? And i can submit all other documents?
    3. I've read that the application supporting docs need to be sent to Sheffield? Do this mean that i'll need my wife to send me the originals of the IELTs, TB, Sponsors birth, CFO , Family planning certificates etc by courier from Philippines to the UK? Will scanned copies be acceptable? My wifes passport photo page and uk visit stamps will be scans, so can they all be scans ?
    4. Proof of meetings- For photos together, will screen shots from an ipad showing the date was the photo taken be acceptable?
    5. I've also read i need to make copies of all docs and include then in the pack that goes to sheffield- is this correct? Wont Sheffield make their own copies?
    6. Im planning to submit all docs (Fully labelled and referenced to the cover letter and a requirements checklist) in an A4 folder, un-stapled, as im sure they will need to be scanned/ copied. Does this sound ok?
    7. I assume after we submit the online application and send payment, we'll get details of how and where to send the supporting docs ?

Can you or anyone else help? It would be great to hear how successful applicants did it :)
    Thanks,
    David

    Hi Cha / All,

I notice Cha's list of supporting docs didn't include the VAF4A Appendix 2 form, which the gov website claims is a requirement for spouse visa applications.

    https://www.gov.uk/uk-family-visa/partner-spouse
(Under- how to apply, outside the UK)

I notice other spouse visa applications documented here on BF have included the form.

    Am i missing something ?
    Thanks in advance
    :)

It is indeed required and must be included in a spouse visa application
