Hello. I appied for a Spouse visa. I took the biometrics on Dec28, 2017 and I sent documents to Sheffield on January 10,2018. I got my passport with vignette. But I don’t know what to do next. I read somewhere in this forum that there is some sort of seminar to attend to.

Yes you need to do the CFO seminar, get the certificate and sticker and then you can leave the Philippines when your vignette is valid.

Hi Brom, This CFO seminar, do they only do these in PH? It is unlikely my fiance will be going back to PH as she is currently living and working in the UAE and we will apply for her Fiance visa while she is there, then if/when this is approved she will come here, we get married and (plan to) live happily ever after? With all this in mind, how/when would she do it?

Sorry Den to hijack your thread

yes--the cfo seminar is a purely filipines nonsense. if shes not there--she cant do it. only snag might be if she does go home at some stage--she might not be allowed to leave without a cfo sticker. but i'm sure there will be a way round that ££.

She doesn’t need the CFO, as far as I know, if she is currently living and working in the UAE. It certainly won’t be asked in the Immigration in UAE or the UK. You only need that when exiting the Philippines.

Yes... it's to obtain your release from 'prison' Philippines. :D You already (legally) made it out, so no worries. :like:

Hi Imegy! I came from UAE too. When I got my fiance visa, I resigned from work. My company did the online cancellation. They purchased me a one-way ticket to UK as a marriage gift. There was no issue with UAE immig. When I came here, there were few questions from the UK immig officer as that was his first time to see a fiance visa. But they were basic questions about my fiance and our wedding. She just needs the visa, that's all.

I think I am following a 2-year old trail here but still hoping to get a response. Hi @menchu_edge , I got my fiancee visa approval recently. My application was processed here in the UAE. I want to know the timescale allowed for me to travel to the UK. My fiancee visa is valid for 6 months so does that mean I have 6 months to travel to the UK too? I am confused as I think I have read in the UK Immigration website that one must travel to UK within 1 month from UK Fiancée visa START DATE. I already have my flight booked on May (first month of the visa validity) but just in case it needs to be rescheduled in relation to any movement/ scenario possible caused by this pandemic issue we are all facing right now.

Fiancee visa is valid for six months and in that time you have to travel to UK, get married and then apply for FLR visa (which lasts for 30 months) which gets you on the 5 year route to ILR and citizenship.

30 day rule is for spouse visa when already married and visa lasts 33 months.mon that visa you have a 30 day vignette and have to arrive within that time or get a new vignette.
