    Dear All,

    I would like to commend british-filipino.com website for providing helpful information. And I'm here seeking help in applying my fiancee visa. I'm from Philippines and I had a 10 year old son. I was in a student visa in UK before,work and live here for 5 years ( year 2008-2013). My fiancee proposed to me when I got back to Philippines and there, we had 3 long years of long distance genuine relationship.

    I worked in China for 2 years which made us capable to apply for UK Tourist Visa ( 6 months valid ). Apparently, we are residing in Wales and we are starting to gather all the documents we need for our application. I have numerous concerns such as:

    1. Can we apply our Fiancee visa in UK holding Tourist Visa?
    2. Can we register in the council to schedule our marriage? If not, what are proof I can show that we have strong intention of getting married and stay in Wales?
    3. Does Wales and England have the same scheme of financial requirements?
    4. How do I apply my 10 year old son?
    5. My fiancee can meet the financial requirement of £22,400. In case, can I also add my Philippines and China savings into my application to suffice the UKBA requirement?
    6. How am I going to apply in Philippines for our Fiancee visa?

    For those who can assist us, Salute. My fiancee and I will be very glad to hear from you. Im not new in Wales but most of my friends are outside Wales. By the way, we are in Bridgend now. For those who are near, we can have coffee. And my 10 year old son is quiet active who needs playmate. We can do tennis, badminton or even hair cutting! :) Thank you very much. Cheers.

    ok. well--you cannot apply for a fiancee visa while youre here on a visit visa--you have to go back to the philis first. but meantime enjoy your time here !

    its best to enquire at your local registry office in wales to see if you can make a provisional booking for a wedding---i did--up to 12 months ahead.

    any savings you have are irrelevant to your application. its the sponsor who has to meet the financial requirements. it appears yours does--by earnings.

    Welcome to the forum young lady, as Sir bigmac says, just take your time and try to gain an understanding of the process. Take a look at the link below, this is a good place to start;

    http://www.british-filipino.com/ind...r-a-partner-spouse-visa-under-new-rules.5740/

    Regarding your questions;

    1. You have to be outside the UK to apply for the Marriage Settlement visa (Fiancée visa).
    2. Schedule your marriage before you apply for the Fiancee visa, you can offer evidence of marriage with your application. Just ask on the forum later what evidence to submit, I wont go into it now.
    3. The UK as a whole has the same financial requirement.
    4. You can apply for your son at the same time as your application (separate application required).
    5. Your savings and that of your loved one are irrelevant to the application, meeting the financial requirement is the main thing. Note that you having money in the bank will help with a UK visit visa.
    6. See the link posted then come back and ask questions, someone here will guide you I'm sure.

    i know its the polite thing to say "sir" in the philippines.....but not needed in the UK.

    in the UK "Sir" is the title given to special guys who have received a Knighthood--usual for services to football or the pop music business

    no--you cannot apply for a fiancee visa ( now called settlement-marriage ) while your here on a visit visa. you will have to leave the UK first.

    You can go to the registry to inquire and make booking on intended dates so it can be used as an evidence when you apply for the visa. But as mentioned, you cant apply for a fiance visa if you are inside the UK.

    Take it from me- we tried doing it. I was in the UK for a few months in aug 2016. I was not a member of the forum as of that time so i didnt know what i was doing as well.

    You can try it yourself using uk.gov website but after answering the quick questionaire, it will tell you that you cant apply inside the country. Consulted with immigration lawyer as well and we were told the same thing (would have saved us a few quid).

    1. Can we apply our Fiancee visa in UK holding Tourist Visa? -- As far as I know, you can't apply to extend your tourist visa to another visa while here in the UK. You need to apply the settlement visa in your home country or in a foreign country where you hold a resident visa. Anywhere outside the UK.
    2. Can we register in the council to schedule our marriage? If not, what are proof I can show that we have strong intention of getting married and stay in Wales? -- You can always ask for a provisional booking in your local registry office. But you CAN'T register in the council to schedule your marriage on a tourist visa unless you wanted to do it the wrong way.
    3. Does Wales and England have the same scheme of financial requirements? -- I think the financial requirements apply to the UK which include Wales.
    4. How do I apply my 10 year old son? -- The same process as yours. @joi1991 can help you on this as she recently applied for fiance visa with her son.
    5. My fiancee can meet the financial requirement of £22,400. In case, can I also add my Philippines and China savings into my application to suffice the UKBA requirement? -- If your fiance can meet the financial requirement, you don't have to include your savings.
    6. How am I going to apply in Philippines for our Fiancee visa? -- Look for threads on this forum. There are a lot of infos. Recently, most members here applied for fiance visa including me. :D

    5.your savings cannot be included in any calculation so dont include them

    Hi Rephidim10 sorry for the late reply I was quite busy the past few days. It seems that they've already answered your questions so if you have more to ask don't be hesitant to post.

    To start with you can read this very helpful thread aboutapplying for a fiance visa.
