My wife’s grandmother died a couple of days ago at the grand old age of 96. She died of...well just being old. She lived on a diet of fish veggies and rice. She lived her life in the northern tip of Cebu. It was a quick burial owing to Covid restrictions etc.

Sorry to hear that John, but it is a grand old age and probably a well lived life, Janna and James gran has also lived on a diet of fish, vegetables and rice mostly for most of her life she's a lot younger than 96, though I hope she is still around at that age.

My condolences to your wife she will be sad at not being there I'm sure.

I can’t remember exactly where Mrs Ash said she lived. I will check. But it’s up around Daanbantayan and St Remigio from what I remember she said.

Condolence to the family, seen a few old Pinoys around here in their ninties, if they reach 100 they get 100,000 pesos according to the wife. Also seen a few pinoys kick the bucket in their 50's.
Edit.. I think tha 100k pesos is from the bamboo news lol.

I took a photo years ago in the sulu Islands, Muslim gravestone, the old guy had died at purportedly 136? Years old, obviously he wasn't that age,how would his birth have been accurately recorded for a start, but it was susprising to read.
I spent a while in Pakistans hunza valley, the old Shangri-la,the areas got a rep for longevity of its residents.

What's happening, Davey. Are you OK?
You have always seemed to be a calm person here but perhaps something has rocked your boat?

The family seem to agree that it was time for her, as she was struggling at that advanced age.
