Something to keep the gammons entertained when they are queuing up alongside the Mexicans and Sudanese in Palma Airport.

    As expected.

You could choose to let it go, but instead you have to insult at every opportunity. Whatever floats your boat.

I don't see that as insulting to anyone here Rob, he's made a general comment and observation pointing out the absurdity of worrying about the colour of a document, I didn't even know the meaning of the word or that it had become associated with portly Brexit supporters I had to look it up :D

You could equally ask why we are even celebrating the colour of a document, why is the subject even noteworthy, my passport is burgundy in colour and will be for another nine years and I'm still thinking about getting a second one (Irish) that will let me continue to walk through the same lanes I can use just now.

edit: and I probably fit the appearance part of the description as well :D https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Gammon first paragraph.

Seriously? A thread full of bait, so I responded in kind!

Everything in this thread appeared as "bait" to you, PorkAdobo, because you are a remoaner.

I started this thread because it genuinely is a very good thing for Brexiteers and is part of something that we have been waiting for since the referendum.

You did not have to reply in this thread if you did not like the thread title and subject matter.

Walesrob's previous reply was perfectly correct, IMHO; you want to insult anyone or anything who and which doesn't fit into your ideology.
oss did not notice this, unfortunately. Post #10 (The first line of this post) shows what is really on your mind.

Until you "Let It Go" and stop trying to find opposing political viewpoints, you will live your life in constant bitterness.

This is a battle you cannot win as BREXIT has happened!

Mike anyone who posts any thread anywhere on any forum is inviting comment on that thread by people who agree and by those who disagree.

Yes Brexit has happened but I don't have to agree with what people perceive as its supposed benefits.

Brexit supporters got what they think they wanted, as such they need to own it and that makes them accountable for the consequences, so expect lots more reaction in any thread purporting the supposed benefits.

Personally I would prefer that everyone just stopped talking about the subject on both sides, crowing about the victory invites comment, invites other people's opinion and they have an equal right to express themselves here and elsewhere.

Jim, I agree with some of your reply, but to say that "Brexit supporters got what they think they wanted" implies that we did not know what we wanted.
Brexit supporters could go on and on about the benefits but nothing we say would stop people from not accepting that we got what we wanted.
Time will tell but people who moan after the fact are now wasting everyone's time as it's something that they cannot change any longer, so it begs the question "Why bother?"

It does imply that and that is my opinion and why I phrased it that way.

I should perhaps have said 'thought', I used the term because everyone had their own idea of what Brexit was supposed to be, my pal Craig in the pub thought it would be the end to Paki's as he put it and we could send them all home, seriously that was his view that's what he thought he would get out of it.

It might seem strange but I like the guy even now, he's a human being and there is much more to him than his prejudice but I clearly don't like that side of him.

Everyone had their own idea of what it would be because no one defined what the vote was about in detail, that's the problem with binary choices there is no room for subtle nuance, so people voted for it for dozens of reasons some of the reasons were extreme like my friend, others voted because they somehow believed we had lost our sovereignty, some voted because they thought we sent vast sums of money to the EU and got nothing for it, dozens of reasons.

You Mike you knew what you wanted, but what you wanted was not necessarily the same as what anyone else who voted leave wanted, same is true of those who voted remain there were a multitude of reasons.

Think about it, out of those all those who voted leave, all those who won, only some of them will actually get exactly what they wanted, my pal definitely won't get what he wanted, what we all will get is a whole load of additional baggage lobbed in as part of the process.

And we're not moaning after the fact, I have not seen any new threads started by those dubbed 'remoaners' commenting on anything Brexit related, I have of course seen us 'remoaners' respond to threads when Brexit related topics pop up.

A classic case of the Emporer's new clothes.

Britain could have had blue passports all along if it wanted to. You don't need a burgundy passport if you are in the EU.

    Croatia has blue passports.

    Jim,

What most people who voted to remain overlook is the fact that most of the "London bubble" did everything in their power to thwart the will of the majority of the referendum voters and they underestimated the iron-will of the people.
May (yes), Bercow, the House of Commons (and the House of Lords) were obstacles and many debates were obstructed and new laws put in place to aid and frustrate the government.
There were also demonstrations in the streets against Brexit. Maybe I missed the news but I didn't see pro-Brexit demo's.
People who voted for Brexit, and the politicians who were trying to uphold the peoples' wishes were backed into corner after corner and we "fought our way out" ideologically-speaking.

Of course, you (and other people who wanted to remain) have every right to make your points anywhere, be it here, in work, in the pub etc..
It was a battle of the first order and sometimes I still hear people mentioning it in work. I now just walk away, what's the point - that fight is over, we all have to accept the facts and no sense living in the past.
Sometimes posts I make, like blue passports for example, may appear "to gloat" but my thoughts are far from gloating; they are celebratory in my perspective.

Perhaps we will be brought to task on some issues but that is the nature of politics anyway.

Onwards and upwards, and not sideways any longer.

I do not understand the fuss about blue or red.

The EU does not have a law which states what the coulor of an EU passport must be. The `red´ ones vary in the shade of red from country to country within the EU and Croatia have blue ones.

I have an expired UK passport and a valid Irish one. Both are red. Who cares about the colour ?
