    hello everyone!
Im ghie.Im here to get some information and help about my situation....I got a refused visa for the ground that i didnt meet the requirement like evidence that were getting married and notice from Local Library at Northampton that me and my fiance already book our wedding with them. The reason why they need this is we stated in my visa application that were intended to get married in UK. And now im planning to re apply again for visit Visa but i want to change the reason of going in UK instead of getting married just stated that i wanted to visit and spend more time to my fiance, family and friends and to embrace their culture.. what is the best way to do..... Your advice's and idea's regarding this matter is very much appreciated... thank you in advance and god bless u all!

    Hello and welcome.

Can you expand a little on your situation?

Am I right in thinking that you applied for a Marriage Settlement Visa (sometimes called "Fiancee Visa") and were turned down? That's a LOT of money to spend, and you have a right of appeal against the decision.

Or did you apply for a Marriage Visa (just for a visit?)

Or did you apply for a Visit Visa and say that you intended to marry here?

May I recommend you to be a bit careful with your next application.

If you have already applied for a Marriage Settlement Visa there is a very good chance that any new application that you make will be compared with the one that was rejected and it will be turned down on the grounds that you are planning ro remain in this country.

Hello Ghie welcome to the forum.

Sorry to hear about your refusal. I know it must be hard for you, after all the preparation and waiting and the visa is turned down, really frustrating.

Since you made it clear to apply for a settlement visa I would say the chances for applying a visit visa is close to zero. @Methersgate is right since you made it clear to apply for settlement then they would really scrutinise your application thinking you might remain forever in the country through this route.

Unless otherwise you can provide a very compelling reason to come back in the Philippines then you might be lucky.

The reason for refusing your application is very clear and that is very easy to correct. I would suggest you apply again and provide proof about your plan on getting married in the UK like providing a provisional booking from designated registrar in the UK. You can back this up by providing a receipt of your wedding ring, venue of the ceremony, wedding cake, wedding car, wedding photographer and other wedding related stuffs. The things I mentioned are helpful but they are not necessary.

I got my fiancè visa with just the provisional booking from a registar. The ECO must be convinced that the marriage will take place when you arrive in the UK Hope this helps. :)

... and perhaps encourage your fiance to come on here and ask some questions... as he is your sponsor. :)
