The news story below relating to John Darwin (the chap who faked his own death) from the Daily Mail seems to suggest that it is very easy for his new Filipino wife to get a visa to come and settle in the UK, I'm sure the majority of us here would disagree with that Obviously written to rile its readers. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...-British-benefits-culture-says-wait-here.html
Yes, this is the same conclusion I reached. I refrained from posting a comment, as it would have resulted in getting verbally abused by the baying mob. I do admit that sometime, The Mail picks up on some snippet of info, and embellish it to the point of utter ridicule. Back ground research is not one of their best traits at times.
At least one of the comments below the article pointed out that it is not that easy to obtain a visa, it is articles like this that infuriates some of the less knowledgeable. I suppose we cannot expect everyone to know how difficult it can be to obtain a visa, makes a better news story to say its easy.
By the time the reader gets to the whatever small comment at the end, he has already made his mind up to tar every one with the same brush.
I've stopped 'caring' what the click-bait headlines these 'journalists' have created. newspaper companies who are controlled by few people to suit their purpose or extort money from you. And unfortunately, not a lot are enlightened about this reality.
I don't think she will get into the UK by any means, I think the husband is potless, if his accommodation is to be believed. Makes me wonder where the money actually went to.
just to clarify a point here. partly for the benefit of any guests thinking of applying for a spouse or settlement ( marriage ) visa. i dont think its difficult. in fact--its quite straightforward---provided both applicant and sponsor meet the criteria. in fact--if they do--then the visa cant be refused. why shouldnt it-?-its a nice fat cash cow for the treasury. it brings in £££ millions in fees.
Has nobody else realised that if she had a British Passport then she would not require a visa to enter Britain! She may be a bad egg but the story is bereft of facts and could be viewed as being racist.
As is usual in these reports they are always lacking in any factual evidence to give the reader a concise view of what is being said/misconstrued. Here's another from yesterday http://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/73...canadian-boyfriend-denied-visa-uk-immigration
A "news" article in the daily hate mail. Clickbait nonsense designed to anger the lowest common denominator. Unfortunately people will continue to buy and read this dross
The passport is probably his with her photo pasted temporarily into it for that picture.. He obviously just likes winding up the British press every now and again!
Agreed, the picture on the top page of the passport looks far too bright. This picture is normally superimposed on to the printed page, I believe.
In the left hand photo, she's probably showing the cover of her boyfriend's British Passport. The photo on the right is a fake and a rather bad one at that -- there appear to be two "Bio" pages, in a real British Passport, the upper page contains translations for the various "Bio" page headings.
