HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH HAHAHAHAHAHAAH Let's see what happens with 3 matches in the same week, next week.....
Should be very interesting. But if he wins them the FA Cup they will surely be very happy, for the time being.
He is a quick fix and gone within 2 years! Poch has given Spurs the best time since Bill Nicholson in the 60s moanalot won't get close.
Poch has certainly been great for Spurs, but I understand the decision to let him go. Results this season have been abysmal, his training methods, team selection etc has been criticised by the players, basically he lost the dressing room. I predicted Jose would be chosen as his replacement a couple of months ago. Like him or loathe him, he has an impressive resume and history of winning titles, something which Spurs need badly and I don't think Poch would have achieved that. My theory is that Spurs now have one of the best stadiums in Europe, a top notch training academy, top 4 position in the league for the last 4 or 5 seasons, CL finalists and now the missing piece, a high profile manager. All set now for Joe Lewis to sell the club for £1b plus.
Sounds remarkably like Arsenal of seasons past. Dump Wenger after a bad run of form and bring in the proven winner in modern day football, Emery! I think the problem is that the Premier League is now so competitive. Man City and Liverpool are currently in a sweet-spot where they have assembled a squad that clicks and good managers. With teams like Leicester going through their own sweet-spot, and other clubs below dropping £30m+ at the drop of a hat, it is going to be a challenge every season to reach the Europa League, nevermind top 4. Would you want to bet on Man City continuing their recent domination (yah yah, I know they are way off Liverpool in the league so far) when Guardiola presumably leaves in the next 2 years? Certainly they’ll continue to spend big (unless the Sheikh loses interest) but what is the overall difference between a £30m or a £70m player? You need the same amount of good fortune to ensure your Alexis Sanchez, Coutinho, Pogba etc live up to their price tag. Same at Liverpool when Klopp goes to Bayern/Real/Barca and the stream of Southampton players dries up.
There is no doubt that in order to win you need everything in place, players manager etc. I think it's also inevitable that clubs with the biggest budgets will buy the best players, win more titles and hence become more attractive for top players and managers alike. The fly in the ointment is when the players become so full of their own elevated opinion of themselves, that they can try to take control of the club management, manger other players etc. This is what happened at Man U and even Jose couldn't sort that out before being sacked.
Without doubt Pogba was the poison in United's dressing room ( Ferguson was right to get rid of him all those years ago). The young United squad now need a period of stability and a firm hand to ensure like you say they don't become full of their own importance. I would love to see Son (Spurs) at United.
Moanalot booked for calling opposing bench idiots! Well they ain't that idiotic their team beat yours, haha. Bit early for tantrums but par for the compensation course.
