I used to spend a lot of time in Davao years ago when he was mayor,i met a few cops,quite high ranking,heard some stories,that was back in the days of the original DDS nowadays its nationwide.

This was from 10 years ago,it started long before that.

No drug related deaths/murders where we are for a few years so something worked.

I heard earlier today there was 2 in davao.

7/8 years ago here in Bohol there was a lot of blood and killings ,house burglaries,ride in tandem shootings,salary holdups etc..These days pretty much zero.
We had workers that were high pretty much everyday on shabu..Not anymore.
They tell me they are afraid to buy gear even from trusted friends as police buy bust ops are the norm..
I think the shabu addicts in our area have been forced to become clean,banged up or dead..
Something is working.

I am hoping there's two burglars added to the statistics, one of them wasn't at home when cops went this morning, the second hasn't been identified yet, just takes time.

Fight a drug war like a war might not like the methods but can't argue the results

A lot less innocent victims of drug related crimes these days fortunately.

I don't like the tactics but personally I feel they are momentarily necessary for the Philippines.

I look forward to the day they are no longer employed and the problems can be solved without these sort of measures. I hope it comes soon or even at all.

MANILA- Malacañang slammed Tuesday the upcoming US premiere of a documentary film that tackles President Rodrigo Duterte's bloody campaign against illegal drugs, and warned those planning to watch to be circumspect in reviewing the film.


Produced by award-winning filmmakers James Jones and Olivier Sarbil, "On The President's Orders," is billed as an on-the-ground look at President Duterte's deadly campaign against drug dealers and users.

The Palace, through Duterte's spokesman Salvador Panelo, criticized the documentary film as "overdramatized" and filled with "unmitigated vilifications" as it explained that illegal drugs is a billion-peso industry in the Philippines.

"The docufilm, together with its so-called cinematic investigation on drug-related deaths, evidently has been deliberately overdramatized for the purpose, apart from putting the Philippines in a bad light, of creating a better cinematic experience for its audience," Panelo said in a statement.

"The Palace is vexed by the continuous spread of disinformation against our country’s campaign against illegal drugs and criminality," he said.

British filmmaker urges Duterte to watch drug war documentary.

MANILA—British filmmaker James Jones has challenged the Duterte administration to watch their documentary entitled "On the President's Orders," which was criticized by Malacañang as an "overdramatization" of the ongoing war on drugs in the Philippines.


The scathing documentary by Jones and French director Olivier Sarbil, who are both Emmy Awards-winning filmmakers, tackled the handling of the Caloocan City police force of the war against illegal drugs as ordered by Duterte.

Jones said the Palace issued a statement without even seeing the documentary, which also told the story of a man who was killed by masked men in a motorcycle in broad daylight.

"We urge this administration and Duterte supporters at home and abroad to watch the film, to engage in debate and understand that people are dying," he said.

Presidential spokesperson Salvador Panelo said the documentary, which is set to debut in some United States film theaters and air on PBS this October, "reeks of malice."

I met Duterte years ago,on a shooting range,I always said he was a good mayor for Davao as he cleaned up Dodge City (Davao) it used to be like the wild-west,he reduced crime,however I don't think he is presidential material

The rest of the world may not think he is presidential material but he is clearly popular in the Philippines

Most Filipinos who voted him in are good law-abiding citizens, it's the corrupt and criminals who are against him. I think he is one of the best leaders this country has had.
Helping the poor, building house's for the poor, trying to stop corruption, giving the police and army support. Stopping drug lords.

I feel safer here than before. there was drug gangs shootings almost every week. We still get the occasional ride by shootings. And he's done a fantastic job with this Sar cov 19, so far. Less than 1000 deaths
