As i go along reading instructions on what should be submitted for my bereaved spouse visa,i came across these phrases,
"For those who have off line application"
Does this mean that after you did your online application,we can still opt to send the proofs and supporting documents hard copies to the home office ,like we use to do when we don't have another option to use Sopra Steria?
I don't know if i had asked a valid question but ideas about this will be gladly appreciated .
    "For online"
Apply online and upload documents and use the Sopra Steria services for checking?
    Is this what it means?

We applied online..paid the fee..was referred to sopra...selected a date and time saved a few ££ on their fee
..different dates..different prices. Scanned docs and uploaded to their site..2 were rejected and had to redo them. Simple really..no paper docs lost in post.

Because of technical issues, I wasn't able to upload a single document on my own,so i brought in 40+ pages of proof of correspondence, finances, residency, identification and marriage and birth certificates of me and Mr Nickel and his death records.
Appointment was at 4pm yesterday, good thing i was allowed to be in an hour before and waited at the reception area, went in to the cubicle at 4pm.The staff was so accommodating,he uploaded all that i brought in.He asked me to hand to him by sequence,so it was really a relief on me.After finally done it,he rechecked 2x and asked me to do my biometrics.Finished at 4:48pm.Well done to our Edinburgh UKVCAS team!
It was a pleasant experience. Now that's one off my shoulder!
Time to save up for the British citizenship fee.

This is a great step forward for you however,Unfortunately, it is not possible to apply for citizenship if your British partner died before you submit your forms. However, if you hold Indefinite Leave to Remain, EU settled status or permanent residence status, you may be eligible for British nationalisation through other immigration routes.
You need to look into this

I think i had already checked on the possibilities. One of my Filipina friend was on this as well and she got her citizenship the same year too.Another case is a Pinay from Edinburgh who lost her husband in an elevator accident while on duty, and she was just here for 8 months yet.She immediately applied for ILR using a solicitor and she paid a whopping 5 grand altogether.
She was told by her solicitor that she has to wait for 5 years to apply for her citizenship.
But of course, thank you for the heads up,i will definitely start scoring for answers about this.Thank you.
Will share with you the turn outs .:)

    Thank you for sharing.
This was brought in because of the question "can a widowed spouse could get a citizenship" and unfortunately no( when you have not applied for an ILR when your spouse passed away.
So this is where we are trying to establish what is the next steps.
So the key points would be if you have lived in the UK for 3 years you can proceed to a different immigration route, which has no clear direction. My understanding is,if you are on spouse visa and yoir partner passed away, you can immediately apply for ILR and that's when the no.of years requisite will apply. That means you have to wait and complete 5 years, which in my case i am already here for over 5 years.
But if you read further on,after being here for 5 years, you can already apply for it (This is why i did not apply for ILR even tho,i was already allowed to apply for ILR last year.
But just need to explore more about this.I will just wait till my ILR comes, and see what is the next steps to do.

Yeap, explanation is quite vague,it only says about being married to a British citizen,so I hope this also applies for widows.
