    Edited.

So I’ve booked an appointment for my son and Mother for their tourist visit finally!
    Fingers crossed!

Anyways I just need to send some of the paperwork to them as I can be bothered to scan everything one by one . Much easier to send it to them. I’ve booked their appointment on April 1 so I need to send the paperwork to them ASAP. What are everyone using? Ideally I need it to be ship 2-3 days to them.

    Thanks again guys!

For that type of timeframe think it will have to be Fedex or DHL.

Fedex last shipment I did of documents was sent on Thursday 2nd Feb 2018, received Monday 5th Feb 2018

Oh just 2 working days! Brilliant! Someone recommended transglobal to me where they get you docs from your home and send it. I’ll have a look around DHL near me. Just want to ask if you don’t mind how much did you pay for it? I have 2 envelopes with loads of paperwork .

Cost me £82.43. That was for visitor visa for stepson's supporting documents and copies to take to vfsglobal. To big to go in their large envelope size so went in small box size which think increased price.

    For info on time line

Appointment at vfs on 8th Feb 2018
Visa email: 19th Feb 2018 ready for collection
    Booked ticket 21st Feb 2018
    Flew 16th Mar

Speed was essential so went with Fedex. I dropped of package at their local depot first thing in the morning and timelines are from their tracking number. Had to set up fedex account online first. Think could gave had pickup from home but not able to wait there all day and I wanted it moving as soon as possible as we had already booked the vfs global appointment before it was sent.

I have sent some paperwork to PH through DHL a few weeks ago for weight up to 0.5kg, I paid £38.95 for the parcel envelope. They received my documents in 2 days.

    Box 2: Next weight up to 1.5kg = 49.95
    Box 3: 3kg = 58.95
    Box4: 7kg = 78.95
    Box5: 12kg = 138.85

Hi. Am I being stupid here? I’m sure someone will tell me! I have applied online for my partner to visit. I have filled the online application in on her behalf. I’m visiting her in May and intended to take all out evidence in on the appointment day. Is that ok?

Oh wow £80? For 1? Only paid £40 for DHL. It’s 1-4 working days though but I’m hoping they have it by Thursday as appointment is on a Monday on April 1st!

I got a tracking number as well so hope it will be with them soon! I want them to fly around May 3rd week so hoping they get the visa before then

It’s definitely ok since you’re visiting anyways? I mean if you have applied online you can even scan and download your supporting documents.

i dont know about visit visas--but with settlement visas there is a time window to submit documents. 21 days i think.

I'd have scanned them in for £50 for you..... In fact any office supplies shop would have charged you about £20 probably at most.

Hey Matt just a quick one, sorry to jump in but my mother and son are applying almost at the same time on Monday. My son has most of the originals and my mom are copies. Do they have to photocopy each of them still for each of them? I did pay for photocopies (on the VFs )just in case they need to.

If you've done the copies I would just put them in.
Normally I would just put originals that are appropriate for the person and then copies if it was say mother and son in the other persons file
For example sons birth certificate in his file copy in mum's,mum's birth certificate in her file copy in sons and so on.

Worth detailing that they are linked and quote the linked visa application numbers in each one and say that copy is in this one and original in the other applications.

Sure that is what we did for wife's marriage visit visa and stepsons separate visit visa.

I have always believed it to be better to put the original in the relavent persons application and copy the other file .
Certainly done it that way in wife's 2 FLR applications her daughter's FLR application and her other daughter and granddaughters visit visa
A padentic point I guess it's individual choice.

I’m hoping that the one checking would just do them together lol! And don’t have to do more copies if they want a photocopy of each paperwork!
