Let's hope so. He's well past his best as a boxer and prior to the fight was saying that he was in really good condition and had had a great training camp.

If he runs for president he can't be any worse that the incumbent and has done a damn site more for his countrymen.

Sadly, with all the good will in the world he isn't presidential material, pinoy politics is as rotten as fly-blown meat, he will be a face or puppet for his "advisors". There's another boxer in the running.....

Myself and Mrs Ash fell out over this, this morning. They don’t need a celebrity as a president.

Good boxer. But shouldn’t be attempting to run the country.

Anyone groomed for a career in philippine politics is a big nono, I don't know the guy but he looks like he has had an easy life, a new broom sweeps clean otherwise the PI is destined to remain at the bottom of the 3"rd world division

Just scanned his bio, methinks not, political dysentery, whoops, I mean dynasty family, even his kids are getting in on the act, his old man was a politico, same old crap, those people have never known poverty, suffering hunger like the majority, scrap him, looks more like an aged pinoy movie star than a real man of the people to be fair.

That’s funny. I will get Mrs Ash to tell him that. The dynasty you refer to paid for Mrs Ash’s degree and high school education. :D

Dysentery as in professional politician, anyone who can afford to run for president isn't squeaky clean innit ;) philippine politics is a murky pool to swim in.

Look at the family, professional politicians, you will be hard pressed to find a pinoy politician who is squeaky clean :)

I know. I say the same thing to Mrs Ash, much to her dismay  But somebody has to be at the helm….. it’s a case of picking the best of who is available.

When Mrs Ash and I first met we spent a lot of time everyday on the internet. As you do. I think we were arranging something to do with the wedding or something similar and we came to a sticking point and in a tantrum she told me not to bother travelling to the Philippines as scheduled to which I replied I am travelling anyway. At that point she told me she would have me banned from entering the Philippines. I just laughed it off. Little did I know about her connections to Congress and the others.

Has the Remulla dynasty been that bad? They don’t seem a bad bunch to me…

They need a president with brain not a celebrity without brain! Filipinoes are easy to fool, a little bit of popularity they think it’s already ideal to run the country. They don’t think thoroughly what will benefits the country. They all think, easy money so they allow politicians to buy their votes and then get surprised after they voted them left them again without keeping their promises when they were running for the positions. :frust:

Hobsons choice in the Philippines, picking the best of the worst.

Well exactly. They are all human, look at Matt Handjab for example. It’s hard to find a trustworthy politician anywhere. But the electorate has to go for someone. :D

Brit politicians are a lot more transparent than pinoy vote buyers :)
