One thing is for certain, however anyone else wants to view it (and I know forums like this breed tribalism and cynicism) Mrs Ash would not be Mrs Ash in the U.K. today if it wasn’t for the Remullas.

Experience breeds cynicism, 30'ish years of experience in the PI and I haven't seen one politician from barrio captains up who weren't hell bent on feathering their own nests, anyone who pays cash for votes (and they all do) is making short term losses for long term gains :)

I know. I know a guy exactly the same. He spent years out there and eventually jacked it in. He settled with his Filipina in the back of beyond in Scotland. He did not have a single good word to say about the Philippines. Not even in the presence of his wife lol. He told us all the stories.

But if you are Filipino and live there (or even if you don’t) then you still need to elect a government….

I’ve never voted in the Philippines as most of their promises are too good to be true! They are worse than scammers!:lol::lol: I vote here in the UK and I am not prepared to share which party I vote! ;)

I really don’t care what other people would say about him, but Duterte did the right thing and did well trying to get rid off too many bloody drugs addicts and drug lords issues in the Philippines! They deserved ‘Kamay na Bakal’ in that sense! And I pretty much doubt Pacquiao can do the same! Drugs is a big problem in the Philippines. End the story!!! Period!!! :boxer:

It’s not Duterte himself who abused the power he did the command but whoever do the wrong thing is not his fault at all! What I like about him is that, he is doing his best to clear the damn bloody mess the drug lords and drug addicts did in the country. Even poor people depends on drugs. I hate to see how bad Philippines was before he even stepped in. For me? He is the best president of the Philippines. PERIOD!!! Mystica screaming! :frust::frust::frust:
