I came here with my Filipino wife in November 2016. I got my 13A Visa within days. As you people may know, it is marked on the front and back as "Permanent". My wife is in the late stages of Parkinsons disease, so I thought I had better research my visa just in case she dies before me. And according to the BI web site, the 13A is only valid while married. If she dies, no visa. I have been making enquiries to see if I can change to a more permanent visa but as yet I have no response - other than the BI contact email address telling me to call their legal department. I have enquiries out with the Philippine Retirement Agency and a licenced marketing agent for the PRA but no replies. Today I emailed another marketer for the PRA and I am hoping to get a response from them about converting to the SRRV. My next stop will be a chat with a lawyer before I make the phone call to the BI. Has anyone else had a similar problem? .
You should be able to apply for a non quota visa. https://londonpe.dfa.gov.ph/images/Forms/visaform3.pdf
I know of at least one expat here who lost his wife quite a few years ago...while on a 13A (which I also have), and he apparently is living here perfectly legally on some sort of variation of the 13A. Recommend you consult your nearest BI about this.
Yes - you are right, thanks. I have checked, but it's called a Quota Visa 13. Based on a quota of max 50 from a specific country in any year. So I will get my name on the list.
No its called the Quota Visa covered under section 13 of the Philippines 1940 immigration act Good luck with your application
