Anyone seen this and know what the implications are for long term Filipino residents in the UK? https://www.philhealth.gov.ph/circulars/2020/circ2020-0014.pdf
Steve there is another thread going on this already http://www.british-filipino.com/index.php?threads/wrapped-around-her-neck.18337/
New law that requires overseas philipines to pay 300 to 1800 pesos a month into the new national healthcare scheme with 1.5% compounded monthly interest penalty and potential fines of up to 50,000 pesos if dont pay. Rises to 500 to 5000 monthly charge. Links in other thread will give more detail.
Let no-one say Duterte is not a man of action, like him or hate him he generally does whats best for the people of the Philippines, my wife is from Mindanao and most filipinos from Mindanao especially Davao believe he can do little wrong, and i have to say i believe his Presidency has on the whole been good for the country.
I can just imagine the thunderous condemnation of such statement by some members.. Ooopps.. Where are they ?? Under normal circumstances they would have homed in seonds...
I don't like Duterte Dom and I never will, but his action so far re this lockdown has been better than ours at least in terms of taking action earlier.
my wife thinks the sun shines out of his ar5e at least i think its what she said--in tagalog. maybe the UK govt should offer him a job here...
Shouldnt lose sight of the fact Illegal drug trade in the Philippines. The prevalence of illegal drug use in thePhilippines is lower than the global average, according to the United Nations Office onDrugs and Crime (UNODC). President Rodrigo Duterte has claimed that the country could become a "narco-state".
Fortunately or unfortunately, whichever the case may be. he has been voted by an unsurpassed and overwhelming majority of the population, and still held in high esteem, despite the couple of hiccups. He doesn't mince words, calls a spade for what it is ,without going around in circles fearing to offend anyone. More akin to a dictator than a President with full powers, yeah, on the whole he is doing the job he was tasked to do. we may not like him, for whatever reason, but respect were it is due,
Good news although talks about suspension. Hopefully means problem gets put on back burner and forgotten about.
As I keep saying myself.. I've been watching his work what he's been doing... My wife voted for him also to get into power and she agrees He's a damn fine leader and probably one of the best they will have I respect the guy what he's doing... Even down to the shooting of people if they breach what he says... Thats something we need in this country...a backbone
