The London Philippine Embassy website has been down for maintenance since the 10th November, as posted on the Facebook link, 4 days does seem rather a long time for an Embassy not to have a website, you can still send the Embassy messages however via the Facebook page but I very much doubt it will be of help to you. There is no indication how long the website will be down for, not very good PR in my opinion.
We were there yesterday, and as usual one ends up doing things which are totally alien to him/her... Pictyures, pictyures galore....... Of anything that moved or didn't move........ Ordeal comes to mind..... I plead the fifth now.......
Hi everyone. Cant find on how to post a new topic. I just got married last wednesday at Weybridge. I remember one of the lady in the registry said that i have to notify the Philippine embassy/consulate about the marriage. Is it right? I cant find the PH embassy site as well. Can someone help me what to do afyer getting married here in the UK. Thank you
I think (not 100% sure) that you can download a form the Embassy website to inform the Philippine authorities that you have married. Check the website when it is up and running again. I can tell you one thing for certain, if you want to change the name in your passport to your married name then you have to apply for a new passport at the Embassy (this takes up to three months).
Thank you Timmers for the reply. I actually going to keep my maiden name. As they allowed here not to use the husbands name.
That's called report of marriage as by Philippine law, is required from those who married a foreigner.. there is no law in the Philippines that disallow you to rwtain your maiden name so even if you are in Pinas, you can hang on to your name forever
Hello boys&girls. Can anybody confirm me if I need a visa to travel to Philippines as a EU citizen ? If so can I get the visa in Edinburgh ? The 22 Hill Street is the right address for the Edinburgh consulate ? Thank you.
If you have a British passport then you do not need a visa to visit the Philippines, if you have an EU passport just check on the Embassy website but I doubt very much you'll need a visa, best to check though.
You can go to PI for 30 days without a visa as an EU citizen. You need a return ticket to enter the Philippines. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visa_policy_of_the_Philippines
That's great ! Thank you. P.s. Planning a quick marriage I hope the visitor visa is OK ... European passport, here.
Below is the new website for the Philippine Embassy in London, I cannot edit my opening post of the thread to edit the old web address; http://londonpe.dfa.gov.ph/
Pfffff .... Doesn't say anything about about needing a visa or not. Well ... The process of getting married from the European citizen point of view is not complicated ,from what I read. The complicatedpart aka gamble part is ,if she will get a visa to enter UK if married with an EU citizen quick enough and without further complications.
As was previously posted you don't need a visa if staying less than 30 days - wasn't that clear? And I'll say it again, you can't do anything quickly - especially if that's her only intention - to get a visa, immigration will look closely at arrangements that appear to be rushed.
There's nothing on the embassy that specifically says ,if you're EU you don't need visa. OUR intention is to be together as soon as ... There are no rushed arrangements. Just get married get all the papers done and leave. I have a job to do and a rent to pay, can't afford more than 2-3 weeks holiday.
How romantic, Does the 10 day rule still apply? If so you'll find it hard to do it in two weeks although I suppose technically not impossible. I managed in 3 weeks and my wife followed me back here 3 months later.
