welcome to the forum. a sad story indeed.

you ask if he can divorce you without your knowledge .
well--he will be able to divorce you--eventually --under UK law--after 5 years separation without your consent. but the court in the UK will send you notice of the petition--and you will be able to make a claim for maintenance for yourself and your kids.

or--he can file for divorce after 2 years if you give consent to this...which would be a good bargaining chip in your favour.

you may wish to agree to a clean break agreement--for yourself. this could mean a substantial cash settlement for you instead of maintenance. you will still be able to claim maintenance for the kids.

either way--you will be a lot better off without that rat in your life.

If he was a current UK resident you could get a REMO order https://www.nidirect.gov.uk/articles/reciprocal-enforcement-maintenance-orders-remos however it is going to be hard to do that if you have no resources and he might still fail to make payments even then.

However the UAE is not on the list of countries in which support Reciprocal Orders and I am not sure if there is any direct arrangement between UAE and the Philippines (I am guessing you are in the UAE as you say he works for an airline)

I think he would have to be resident in the UK to divorce you in the UK, I don't know about procedure in the UAE, it might be possible for him to do that.

You have my sympathy this is a tragic story .

yes--he can file for divorce in the UK--he may have to be here to do so. it means he gets a "foreign " divorce--which is recognised in the philippines.

my wife is filipina. i met her when she was here in the UK--in 2011--with a student visa. she had been separated from her filipino husband for 5 years. she filed for divorce here in the UK--5 years separation. he was in the philippines then.

He would have to be resident in the UK and I suspect that he won't be seen as resident in the UK for reasons of tax, so no he can't do that at this point in time.

The post before my first reply to you from Bigmac is accurate.

If he does return to the UK then it might be worth exploring the REMO order route.

    Thank u for the reply

I cant have my tears stop from falling as i love my husband so much and all i have ever asked is hed stop his affairs and il never return to Philippines to save my children feom bullies and judgmental people. U know our culture is diff from theirs. My children will be tortured and will be shocked as everyday and night, i tell them to love and respect their father. To take care of him when he is old and sick and to protect him if in trouble when theyre grown ups. Yet behind our back i know theyve continued. Never mind me being hurt so much as a wife. I dont know how to describe it but my children are all i thought how would they accept if their father will eventually leave us to be with another woman.

But thank so much for ur reply.

The lady asked for her post to be removed and Paul has done that, I can fully understand why she would want it taken down.
