That's still a lot! We don't have our own garden here so I can only dream of what you're already doing. Amazing.
I have grown Habs here but none in that Pic.. The Yellow ones are a pretty rare Scotch bonnets and the red ones are Ghost peppers (Bhut Jolokia) and Carolina reapers.. The worlds hottest.. If me and my mates come across any loud obnoxious yanks,we invite them round, give them free beer and then lace the cheese dip with Hell sauce..
Sounds like you know your Scoville Scale! Kris is a little disappointed at the relative lack of chilli varieties in a typical Brit supermarket - usually just a pack of red and green chillies of medium heat.. although our local Sainsbury's have a wider range - including Scotch Bonnet & Habs.
Thanks Matt - although St Leonard's St in the Southside - near the Commie Pool / Pleasance. Did you stay in Edinburgh? G
I found this nice story http://thegstopinedinburgh.blogspot.co.uk/2008/01/filipino-community-of-edinburgh.html But again this place is closed it was called Foods of the Philippines and was at 184 Easter Road in Leith but is now called Super One and appears to be a Polish grocer now. Down here in Liverpool the big Chinese supermarkets tend to be the best places to get Filipino produce, Chung Wah is quite good.
This place here in Edinburgh might be a good one to try again down Leith Walk and there is another one a little further down the road here Both of these look like they will be great for sourcing lots of varieties of rice, but I bet they will have some Filipino goods too. Another option is any large Tesco who often have Filipino goods in their international sections.
