    Hi

My wife needs to renew her expired Philippines passport in London. Just looking at:
    https://londonpe.dfa.gov.ph/consular-matters/passport#epassport

    It states:

    Requirements:

    • Duly accomplished application form (Form No. 2—RENEWAL)
    • Original and a photocopy of the latest passport and a photocopy of the data page
    • Passport processing fee (GBP 55.00)
    • Self-addressed stamped prepaid registered mailing envelope (for applicants who wish to have their passports sent back to them by post)
At the risk of sounding a bit dense, is there a formal procedure/service for photocopying passports? Or do I simply place the open passport on a photocopier and scan each page, one by one onto A4?

We've just gone through the process....
Allow lots of time, we traveled by train and got to the embassy around 11-25AM and it was packed solid (maybe some schools were on half term so that couldn't have helped). We escaped around 2PM.
Prepare all your documents before you go. There is a post office a few minutes away in case you forget the vital photo copies. Black and white copies are acceptable.
Take a ticket and wait, and wait, and wait for a bit longer. There are a few seats but nowhere near enough. Extra seating is provided on some nearby stairs :) Eventually your ticket number will be called so you can go to a processing window. Hand over the completed form, note the mothers name required is her maiden name and not her married name, the copy of the marriage certificate if changing the name on the passport and the copy of the main page from the existing passport.
Go to another window to pay. The credit card machine is the only thing that works fast :) :)
Go upstairs...mmmm two sets of stairs and no-one is around to guide you. For passports it's the stairs nearest the counters you have just visited.
Wait again until your name is called...photograph so obey the usual rules like no jewelry and modest clothing. You will also have your fingerprints scanned.
After checking the details you will be asked to sign on a tablet, use your new name if changing it.
Hand over the postage paid envelope (we used a guaranteed delivery one from PO, £6-60 including the envelope, this covers up to 100g which is more than enough for a passport. Don't foget to write your name and address on it.
You're done! Find a pub to celebrate!

    Hi @uklove
salamat po for your feedback...what documents do we need? Is it the application (2 copies) form and a photocopy of passport page containing the photo - are there any other documents we need?

    Hi Steve,
My wife changed to her married name so we needed a copy of our marriage certificate (both pages), the appropriate form which we downloaded, printed and completed and the photo page of the old passport. The embassy website also states that a copy of the birth certificate is required but we were not asked to provide it.
    Just one copy is sufficient.
    Good luck!

I did mine about two weeks ago. Was very lucky when I got there cos it wasn’t busy at all, I arrived at about 10 am and finished just before 12. I would suggest you avoid Monday or Friday as apparently that’s their busiest days.

Hello! I am planning to renew my passport this coming October 2020. I read your post mentioning the requirements. So, is there no need for the PSA certified birth certificate? I only have my NSO birth certificate certified true copy. This is the second time I renewed my passport at the London embassy. Thanks!

The NSO I think if I understood it correctly was merged with the Philippine Statistics Office. Anway, so the birth certificate is still a requirement for renewal of passport then? I thought that the old passport is so ok to use instead... Thank you for your reply btw.

We take all official documents for everything, this way you're covered. We keep old items too, unless told to destroy. The items required should be listed on the Philippino Embassy website: we would have checked there before travelling. Try to arrive early when you get your passport done, gets v busy...even at 8 in morning

    No birth certificate required.
